I went with z1 tubes and dry filters. couldn't be happier!

onzedge 05-12-2014 10:16 AM

K&N are great filters. I have been using them on all of my cars since I can't remember when.

People who complain about them are those who do not know how to clean and then properly oil them as to not contaminate the MAFs. Also, regular MAF cleaning is a gogd thing to do as well -- using CRC MAF cleaner.

Had 2 days to myself for the first time in months, dropping in a Kenwood DnX9900HD HU, Focal components and midrange speakers for the rear. Already did a stitch change to red and installing a set of Nismo seats. Finally the interior will be the way I like it. Next is either suspension and brakes or the Nismo front fascia and skirts. So far enjoying working on this thing.

if R2C made drop-ins i would go that route, but for now K&N for me. im running the hps tubes. i had to trim it just a tad to make it fit perfect.

For the money (savings over long tube intakes) I think I'll try out the MAF + K&N's. Any reason NOT to order the Z1's over the HPS?

kenchan 05-12-2014 10:58 AM

:rofl2: @ transparent hood.

I am still making 60-20 MPH braking and let all cars clear from around me. I saw a van on the other side of the road so I braked beyond him so as not to startle him or be rude in any manner. Amusingly he was setting up the mobile speed awareness "You are traveling X MPH. I saw my speed backwards. :icon17:

Just gave mine a nice bath only to get more plant jizz all over it.

ZeNato 05-12-2014 04:46 PM

Yesterday, wash. Today, clay bar. Tomorrow, buff and wax. Stupid Missouri weather wouldn't let me do it all in one day. Rain, ugh.

Pintsize725 05-12-2014 05:22 PM

Found some of the damage done by a stray piece of tire on the highway. It's a good thing I'm getting different side skirts. :shakes head:

I was driving to another city (250 miles away) this weekend to have my UpRev done. I purposely took back roads to open her up a bit. I hit a bird and its insides sprayed down the side of my driver side window. Nasty, but no damage done. There wasn't even a thud, the car just eviscerated him.

No.

Mild heating with a blow dryer can help quite a bit. Or -- just sit them in the sun for a bit.

Z1 Stuff Came....Looks good and can't wait to install. Think I'll be the 1st to use the 1970's version JDM Nissan Fairlady Z metal badge on the rear. I'll post pics when I'm done installing.
