I awoke to another freshly paved road. I think I will be able to stiffen my coilovers without a horrible ride every day.

Have fun

No, I didn't ... honestly i though of million of excuses but that one! and i was like "officer, you can check my background i have literally nothing on my record, this is my first time i get pull over (which is half true, it would be my first ticket) just give me a chance officer" and he replied "son u had your chance" i was like WELL FUKC U TOO!

DCNISMO 10-17-2012 05:10 PM

Wow 105. I admit to having the Nismo up to 130 and my ktm bike up to 140. But if I got caught I would fess up to it. Btw, the nismo is super smooth and quiet at 130. The bodywork really generates some real downforce. As for the bike I had to teach and M5 (older version) that his car can't out accelerate a superbike.

:icon14: Bend over and spread them. :icon23: Not even a reach-around. 105 mph.......mmmmmmmmm In this state of Pa. Anything 25 mph over the speed limit is kiss your licence good-by. 105, I would try and fight. Even just to get it reduced.

105 is a bad number in California. I am sorry for you on this. How long were you in custody, and how did your car get to the police station?

105 mph = 168 kph

Here that will get you charged with street racing and dangerous driving, a $10000 fine, loss of license for 7 days, impounded vehicle (towed on the spot) for 7 days, and all the fees associated with towing and storage at the impound lot. Not to mention the unaffordable price hike in insurance... Assuming you can still be insured.

In Texas, even the police understand that it takes 20+ hours to drive across this state even at 100 mph (which is only 20 mph over on about 60% of I-10 where the speed limit is 80). I knew a kid in high school who had a cop write his 120 in a 70 as 90 in a 70 on the ticket. A very close friend of mine was in the car with him and confirmed the tale.

I just watched some Austrailian V8 Supercar racing and this guy passed at 300kmh just before entering a curve :yum: Makes me want to go get a ticket for speeding and reckless driving :icon17: j/k of course

I had about two unobstructed miles of turns today with the Z. Then for the second time, met with an exquisite young lady from the south, with an accent that melted me. she proceeded to stroke my ego (only). This is the sort of thing that mentally screws me up for awhile.

To illustrate: I just spent the last two minutes thinking about her, instead of submitting this.

170kph...... the Z always urge me to reach and beyond it.... but my intellective part always reminds me…"leave it til the track day....."

i was in for 5 hours, i had NO bond but my mom's cousin is a judge so he did something and instead of spending the night there i was lucky enough to get out, so in that matter i paid no BOND, a friend of mine went and got the car at the impound they charged me $225, and I have to go and see the Judge (not my mom's cousin, on nov. 13) they didn't mention a driver license suspension, but he told me the ticket was going to be from $285 - $500, plus i need to wait on a citation for the arrest thing, supposedly it might take 60days to a year to get it... but still sucks! but i have my baby back :driving: so yeah guy here in texas if you go over 100mph you get arrested for sure!

What I quoted is for any speeding fine where you are over the posted speed limit by 50 or more kph. So in a residential area that would be 100 kph in a posted 50 kph zone, or the highway 150 kph in a posted 100 kph zone.

Other than the time you spent in jail, it doesn't sound like too bad of a situation for you.

Went out to drive the Z home after work and was APPALLED by the amount of dust all over it....we're having a mini dustbowl due to the extended drought of the last couple of years and high winds all day.

Not good. :/

As bad as this is, it is no $10,000 fine either like up north. Any ticket in CA is $400+ so I'd hate to think what they charge for 105 MPH. Impound at $225 sounds about right and I love who you know (judge) works in Texas.

Best of luck, although it sounds like you've had a little bit.

LakeShow 10-18-2012 05:40 PM

Was driving and got surrounded by literally about 10 UPS and FedEx trucks in front of me and also behind me that you can't see in the pic...felt like I was in the twilight zone or something lol.

I just wash the Z instead... or waterless wash during Winter..

I have one....but it's too thick...the layer of dirt and dust. The sky is still orange from all the dirt in the air this morning. It appears the bill for the extended drought has finally come due.

I just detailed the Z Sunday so at least it has fresh wax to protect the finish until this all clears up and I can wash it again.

onzedge 10-19-2012 07:25 AM

After 8 years, 2 months as an ERP Analyst for Clients First Business Solutions -- today is my last day. I am going to the office to spend the day re-capping the open projects and deals I am on and say my goodbyes. It should be an odd day and of this am fairly certain. After that, I am driving back to the Sacramento airport in the 370 to pick up my 78 year old mom who is visiting for the weekend. She likes spirited Z car driving, so I may indulge her a bit. She will get to see her great-granddaughter Faye for the first time and I told her to also bring her "grubby" clothes so she can help out with some window trim painting.

Have a great day all of my Z brothers and sisters (and honorary daughter Ms. Pint).

Mt Tam I am 10-19-2012 10:54 AM

Yesterday was high 80's maybe 90. From the bottom of the hill to my house, the weather changed to fog and the temp changed into the 50's. What a radical difference. tHe roads were dry and the word "spirited" could be applied to my VDC off driving.

I was trying so hard to be good too. I started then stopped a pass of a Prius. Went a bit further and decided to pass the Prius this time. Just as I began my pass I saw the car ahead was a Law enforcement SUV. No pass. Eventually the Prius turned off and the LE SUV was just ahead of me going 35 MPH in the newly reduced 40 MPH speed limit zone. He pulled over to let me by then jumped back on the road to follow me.

I don't know who likes to have the police follow you but I am not amongst them. Another car pushed past a stop sign in between us, then saw the cop and slowed some. Two turns later Mr LE was out of sight and the hammer came down and I could go back to spirited. :yum: Ahhhh.

I think about getting a GTR now and again, especially after Top Gear, but the 370Z is just such a great experience that I am a happy man. I think I'd keep the Z if I got the GTR.
