make sure wax it as normal thus protect from UV thus preventing it from getting yellowish.

also, get the A pillar done too.

Good move Garcia. If I had to do a first mod all over again , it would be a clear bra. The front end of my Z is a magnet for rocks, dead tires and sand trucks!

Traded resonators for non-res fast intentions.

Finally got a nice GPS installed into the Z today. Garmin Nuvi 3597LMTHD mounted in the cubby with a modified Nuvi ball bracket and a custom friction hinge. Hardwired it behind the dash leaving ZERO wires to be seen
I splurged on this model but, it was well worth it for the features and HD traffic updates.

It looks as if the GPS is shoved in there but, it actually doesn't touch the sides at all. About 1/4' gap all around and the mount holds it firmly when touching it. Sorry for the iPhone pics :/

That's totally BS brother.

DavidInIndy 03-10-2014 08:41 AM

I can't believe I'm posting this, but...I filled her up this morning. Why? Because I was on six lights and this forum has me totally paranoid of fuel starvation now.

Haboob 03-10-2014 08:57 AM

She's still dirty. :(

Too much wind/blowing dust to bother with washing her at the moment.

btw you have obd2 gauges on your nuvi? i have it. also check out picts in my albums page. :rofl2:

yah, probably too low for our winters here, but for summer and most driving conditions should be fine.

All your album pics show 404 not found for me :(
I weighed out whether to do it your (Modshcakcs way) or have it sit where it does now. I may try it your way if this current spot becomes a bother. Where it's at now you cannot see any wires which was a bonus to me. I do wish it was ever so slightly higher but, it functions well and is well hidden.

think just the surface. i unscrewed it and checked for a leak with soapy water and also with a tire PSI gauge. no leak...yet

yongyuan 03-11-2014 08:04 AM

Just dropped $1200 on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3. Liking them so far. Also picked up 6 qts of Amsoil signature for the oil change that I'll do this weekend. Everything is good in my world (for now).

cool. i had a similar surface puncture on my G's S04 long time ago near the side wall like yours but on the inner side. i dont race my car, so i just used it for the remainder of the tire's life.

:icon17: yah, i got reported 3x last week for posting up pictures that people claimed were hurtful, trolling, and detrail, so it was all taken down. they couldnt accept the fact that my photoshop skillz were so good it looked real. :ugh:

so anyway, yah, check out the modshack thread where he did the Version2. his first verion was real ghetto :rofl2: so he came back and did the folding arm type. the cable is barely visible during use, and looks clean.

if you make the bracket correctly it is very solid and your nuvi will not bounce around while driving, or while you tap at the screen to make an entry. it's quite good...and what i like best is that it has an aftermarket look without being tacky.
