I had the pleasure of having a 56 Chevy (similar to the one pictured below) pull up next to me at a traffic light. It was being driven by a teenager with three of his buddies, one on the passenger side and two in the back. You could tell they were definitely cruising around and having a good time. When pulls up next to me, he starts revving his engine (that thing sounded soooo mean and sooooo intimidating. A crazy V8 rumbling next to me wanting to launch at green light. Modern Japanese hotrod vs old school American muscle pitted against each other in a movie cliché type duel.
Signal turned green and he blasted his V8 and his little stock skinny 5 inch tires hoped and hoped and squealed and hoped some more all while I was cruising right next to him on 1st gear waiting for him to catch some grip so I can actually press the accelerator. Of course I knew his tank of a car with those skinny rear tires and full load were not going anywhere and were no match but I just thought it would be nice seeing this beautiful antique be brought back to life once again. LOL I looked at all four, they looked right back and they all laughed and so did I. I finally switched to second gear and road off, not once going WOT unfortunately. http://www.streetrodsteve.com/collec..._Chevy_011.jpg |
Another good wash. Getting ready for track on Sunday.

Just finished first oil change. It's the first time I've been under the car. It's an impressive peice of machinery. The oil change was simple enough. No drama. Took about an hour. I added 5 qrts and a half-cup of oil. That's right, 1/8 quart is equal to 1/2 cup. Don't see why it was necessary to open a new quart just to add a 1/2 cup of additional oil.

I Drove 30 minutes home after work at 11 pm just to get up at 4am and drive back in. If it wasn't for my Z, I'd sleep at work on nights like this but I like bombing around the city (SF) while its still sleeping. Also all the Prius driving Pelosi lovers get a little early morning Berk alert when I wake up and blast back to the airport...:stirthepot: I'm not sure if that makes me a jerk,:icon14: But I do know its midnight here and people are blasting by in there Harleys, and honking up a storm in their Preii like its cool, (practically shaking me out of bed). I guess the 4 am launch out of my parking garage is my way of saying "thanks" Got to love city living. I can't wait to move next month. |
Good morning Z family. :hello:
Been under the radar most of the year, back for the time being. A lot of old faces and some new...greetings. :tiphat: Installing shocks on both the Zs this morning :yum: |
