There is also the option that I see done to a lot of cars around Fort Hood. Four suction cups in the lower corner of the windshield! No cutting, no drilling, and no messing up the clean line of your front bumper.

In the US, the front of the car is considered the grille area. People don't get stopped for displaying it in the windshield but I do hear that if they speed and get ticketed for speeding, they add on another ticket saying the front license plate is not attached... what a bunch of crap... I hate IL. They have the most paranoid driving rules (well, Wisconsin is a hell of a lot more strict, but still).

I'm just parroting what I was told when I bought the car. I asked the question and he said if there aren't already holes than it's not required. Being that I'll only put about 5k on the car annually, I guess that makes for less opportunity to get pulled over. Browns Nissan in Fairfax will certainly be getting a call from my lawyer if I do get a ticket.
