Your first mistake was leasing. I have never met anyone who at the end of their lease agreement was happy that they leased.

So you hate Nissan, but not your Z. Care to paraphrase why? (just curious, not trying to say Nissan is the best or anything)

First off, Fanboys haven't driven different cars in the range. I have rented most of the hottest sports cars out there now or have test driven them. From corvette, camaro, mustang, challenger eclipse, as rentals. I've test driven gecoupe, evo 135I porache cayman, 335I, and a couple months ago, the STi. So I know something about how most these cars feel. I haven't knocked any of these cars for what they are. All I have said, while all of these cars may have some advantages over the Z. As an overall package I find the Z to be compelling thus far.
Less refined and more brutish than a cayman. Can jump pff the line faster than a challenger R/T, gives more feedback than a mustang and faster than the more acrobatic lightweights. The Z though not a master of ANY, it has the jack of all trades title and combines everything other cars can do well and gives 90% of various driving experiences.

How is that being a fanboi? A funboi sukks a cars exhaust before knowing what he bought. Buys it, worships it for 3 months, then Trolls it out the second he finds a new car
To fanboy...
Learn to rent possible cars, and get good enough credit to warrant getting solo 2 hour long test drives, and you don't have to resort to calling someone who's driven every car you wish you can touch a fanboy.:gtfo2:

Good job. regarding Mr. BuddyZ's posts, please consider the source and try to not react. Anyone who lists "socal" as their location truly needs a wide berth, if you catch my drift. You may be trying to explain the color red to a blind man.

cossie1600 08-16-2012 08:26 PM

I have had many sports cars, which include cars that are faster, feels better, rides better, looks better, but the 370 is probably the best compromise out of them all. It also helps that it is $30K and not $70K like the 911 I was going to get. For the money, there aren't many cars that will beat its performance.

As far as Nissan, they are just cheap a$$holes. I have had many issues with them on parts and avoid paying warranty work. Here are some famous quotes from Nissan's service department.

"It is a sports car, there are going to be rattles"
"You have a trailer hitch, that's why your fuel gauge is reading funny"

Oh yeah, I still have a whinny transmission bearing and fuel starvation issue they either can't or don't want to fix

Kingbaby 08-16-2012 08:27 PM

That's every dealership

brucelidat 08-16-2012 08:29 PM

Have you tried a different dealership? I had a squeak in my rear bumper which I thought was the foam but they said it was something else and fixed it though it took longer and was more complicated than my foam assumption. I had issues with one Nissan dealership with my Altima too, but then another fixed it just fine with no fuss.

buddyZ 08-16-2012 08:34 PM

The only thing im not sure of is if my opinon would of been different if i got the sports package, i mean all my negativity is based on the Base model. Were not even talking sport, touring, nismo. So please give me 5,000 dollars worth of bolt ons and other things i can do to at least make me feel better about this car for 3 years.

I mean i absolutely love the way this car looks that was never the question.

Nope, chevy bent over backwards to fix my car (they didnt fix it right, but at least they tried). Same with Toyota and Mercedes.

Been to 2 dealerships so far with the 370, 6 with 350. The only one I trusted closed down. They are just very tough to work with. I understand they aren't going to fix every problem, but the fact they don't try bugs me. Here is another example. If you research about the fuel starvation issue, you will see that throws a million codes in the ECU. Rather than trying to fix it or at least attempt to, they immediately tried to blame me for the issue and refused to work on it. I didn't mention they tried to tell me my rear view camera was one of the possible cause of it, that's how pathetic they were.

Just get over it, only so much you can cry over. Beat the crap out of the car, let the next owner deal with it.

^^ Maybe try a different Nissan dealership. Some are good some are bad I've seem both.

The sport package is just better brakes and wheels and SRM, it's not any faster, so I doubt you'd be happy with that, either.

Really, it's only money. It would probably cost you less than $5,000 to get out of your lease and into another car you'd be temporarily happy with, but once again quickly grow to hate once you realized all of its shortcomings.

Yeah you can probably get yourself into another car with $5k. Would be better than keeping a car you hate for 3 years.

I love my Z but I know there are better things out there in around the same price range used. I do want to get rid of mine, but I really don't have the money to get another car right now. I mainly want to do this to get a manual car.

Cossie with a lot of dealerships it's a hit or miss. They'll either do everything they can to help you or try toscrew you over at every opportunity they get. I'm lucky in that we found a dealership here that is very mod friendly. They have hosted some meets for our local Z club and even give our group a discount on some parts and services. Can't say how they are with warranty work though since mine ran out.

b1adesofcha0s 08-16-2012 10:09 PM

I would recommend going to the GT-R forum and seeing where they take their cars in for maintenance and warranty work.

I understand. One thing I have learned. Unless my car is completely inoperable, I am not taking my car into the shop before December. I am not losing any summer driving time for them. I will park it there in the winter

I must be blessed cuz my dealer tries to resolve mmost of my problems without protest. But my relationship with nissan is historical and it helps to be a repeat customer. They want to keep you satisfied. I get bigger discounts on nismo parts from my dealer than even sponsors can. Offer me as a authorized nissan dealer as well. They're really awesome, and though they're not perfect. When it counted most. They came thru.

LOLs.

This guy's still having a tantrum?

Even now, that you own a 370 and have been reading and complianing incessantly, you don't even pick up basic information by osmosis, like that a base vs base+sport are no different in HP.

Then you ask for 5k to make you feel better?

You come off an a whiny, entitled all around annoying type. Maybe all your negativity is that you can't stand yourself and no matter what car you sit in you'll be unhappy lols.

I know its the same crappy 3.7 truck feeling coarse engine, was thinking maybe some Akebonos and ugly ray wheels would change my mind but I would still probably be pissed i own a cheap asss Nissan that cant even touch economy car companies like Honda and Toyota.

Why don't you go to the honda and toyota website and offer polishing services, to make enough money to get out your lease and buy one.

you hate on brits reviews... This would be every review... 370Z= OVERPRICED FOR WHAT YOU GET

However, the fact that the agile Toyota is surprisingly refined and easy to live with narrowly keeps it ahead of the stylish TT. Unfortunately, aside from its power advantage, the more expensive Nissan 370Z is comprehensively outclassed and comes third. Toyota has proved that it has rediscovered some of its sparkle and the GT 86 is our pick.

Winner: Toyota GT 86 ★★★★★
The beautifully engineered GT 86 offers the sort of engagement normally reserved for cars like the Lotus Elise. The boxer engine loves working hard and the handling is near perfect. Yet despite its focus it rides well, and the cabin is comfortable, if a little dated.

2nd: Audi TT ★★★★★
It doesn’t have the traditional rear-wheel-drive balance and engagement of the Toyota, but the front-driven TT is composed, fast and fun. Part coupe, part stylised hot hatch, its lower emissions make it the best company car choice, and with a decent boot, it’s the most practical.

3rd: Nissan 370Z ★★★
On paper, the rear-wheel-drive, V6-engined Nissan has all the right ingredients to succeed in this test. Unfortunately its gruff engine, hefty weight and poorly controlled chassis let it down. Although it’s the fastest car here, it’s also the most expensive to buy and own.

If you are going to trash Nissan, at least trash it right. The 370's engine is based on the VQ, not the VK like the truck. The original VQ was silky smooth in its 3L form on the Maxima, it actually made nearly as much power as the BRZ. As the other poster said, put a rev limiter and Prius tires on your car, you will feel like you are driving a BRZ.

Nissan has lower resale value than Honda and Toyota, how dare do you compare Honda and Toyota to them.

Without jacking this thread, here are some acceleration data I got from a BRZ.

http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/6...70straight.jpg
Shot at 2012-07-29

Blue line is how a 370 accelerates and red is how a BRZ comes out the corner. I am sure you can get a BRZ to corner fast, but it isn't making up the HP difference.

sfearl1 08-16-2012 11:21 PM

Please, find someway to get rid of your Z and buy a slower car that has less grip. I will feel much better when you do because you will no longer get to associate yourself with other Z owners.

As for hate training your car AFTER you bought it, that is totally your fault. God forbid you take time to research a car and test drive it multiple times before buying it. But please, go on posting complete garbage about the Z simply because you were to lazy and/or stupid to do your automotive homework before buying a car.

Modifying a Z to track it costs a few thousand at most. Oil cooler, brake fluid, brake pads, maybe cooling ducts.

Probably looking at a thousand or so.

maybe because the 370Z is car nobody is buying and is interested in buying? This Chris Mattews guy is spot on, if you want fun and drivers feel performance without feeling like youre going to die look elsewhere than a 370Z, and if youre looking for quality customer service and warranty and quality interior/mpg/ paint for sure stay away from Nissan.
