I know it has it's fair share of shortcomings, but to say "the 370Z was a disappointment to most enthusiasts and it really is a far cry from the Z-cars of yesteryear" is uninformed jiberish. IMO the 370 is better than the 350 in every way, but because the sales figures during one of the worst recession in history doesn't match that of 350, it's a failure. It just sounds like this writer hasn't done any real research within the Z community.....or any group into cars for that matter. The Z was and is marketed towards the average "working man." The 370 just had bad timing, especially when the working man's chances of being unemployed became that much more likely.
/\ 2012+ oil cooler isstill not up to track time, only helps with "spirited" street driving. There's no brake venting or other improvements either for 2012+, there was a blurb in the brochures about it, I got super excited, turned out to be nothing changed, someone went and looked and everything was identical to the 09-11s.

I agree with you on all the stuff I bolded btw.

I agree, next Z will most likely drop the numerical designation and jsut be a "Z" car and go small displacemnt v6 with DI and hopefully TTs. If it loses 200lbs and comew with 350hp and around 300-320tq, with real lsd, no fuel starve, brake or oil cooling issues etc, it will be a homerun.

I personnaly feel the next Z needs to benchmark the cayman S again as well as the entry level vette, NOT go downmarket and go against the brz, miata etc. they can bring back the silvia for that.
