cossie had a tow hitch made that pokes through the butt hole I think, but it is secured to the crash bar above it.

The description on those colorful fold-down hooks linked above says they're rated for 1.5 tons, which is less than your car weighs unless you're in a very stripped out race-only machine. Usually you want parts like that to be over-rated, not under-rated. The stock tow hook from the trunk works fine, and if you want it to be prettier and more visible when you install it at the track (because leaving a tow-hook in on the street is asking for more damage in minor rear-end collisions...), dip it in red Plastidip from a local hardware store

One of the guys at the track had one of those pretty aluminum tow hooks for his race car, all of 3000 lbs. After a breakdown on track, it ripped in half the moment the tow truck took up the slack on the tow line.

I don't know about mounting fancy colored tow hooks on cars that are not track cars. It just looks incredibly ricey. That's why the stock tow hook should work just fine, considering it was used recently to tow my car. Damn tow company used wheel ties and royally scratched up my rear wheel though. Bastards.

How many of you have done the Plastidip?

I'm working on my checklist for trying my hand at a track Run... I figured I might as well have it colored for pictures but didn't know if it was even worth it

I used a can of this (the small red dip can): Amazon.com: Performix 11601-06 14.5OZ Red Plasti Dip Multipurpose Rubber Coating: Home Improvement. Your local hardware store probably carries it, and it holds up fine. I just used some string to hang it in the air (by the threads) to dry and did two coats (dip, hang dry, dip again, hang dry again). Here's a pic of it on the car, although it's partly hidden in shadows:

Thanks! I went to my local hardware store, but they only had black, ordered the Performix Mix Kit from Amazon... Goal is to get a good Purple out of it

I think mine might be one of those modbargain ones. It came with the car so I use it on the track. I figure it will probably only be used for pulling me out of the mud so it shouldn't need to be super strong
