Anyone who pays 5k over the FRS/BRZ sticker is an idiot. I haven't test driven but have inspected the standing car thoroughly. Imho, HYPE is what gave the FRS BRZ

Anyone who pays 5k over the FRS/BRZ sticker is an idiot. I haven't test driven but have inspected the standing car thoroughly. Imho, HYPE is what gave the FRS BRZ its 25 & 26k sticker. Both these cars don't look like they are worth more than 23k. FR or not.
I know a gencoupe weighs more but, 27k can get you a 2.0 r spec that weighs 3300lbs gives you 275hp turbo engine that's modifiable on the cheap to 450hp, 4 caliper brembo brakes all around, Torsen limited slip and pretty good handling and .93g of grip on the skidpad. I don't think I can justify buying a toyobaru new based on this. Maybe as a commuter? I appreciate all this car can offer as an experience but right now. We have some pretty good choices in sports cars. Its not 2001 anymore. We don't have to be overcharged. As a sports car for 27k. A mustang v6 or 2.0 gen has a competive edge in overall value. If you put a 5k upmarket on a FRS? You might as well buy a Z or mustang GT base. |

Best thread ever. Lets beat down on a car that is not in the same class. Next thread: "Read what the Ferrari 458 Italia said about our car." They called the 370z slow

The Z will be out sold by the BRZ/FRS. But the real test will be do they outsell their closer competitor the Miata?

If the test was who sells the most the Z loses. That is all it loses. It wins on power, interior, (I think) everything.

A cheaper car will most likely outsell and more expensive car… Doesn't mean either cars are better or worse. When a car is cheaper there is a bigger market.

Maybe he really likes modding, cause he'll probably end up spending a ton just to get that "feel" back. I read that on average, the BRZ is selling for around $29,000. On the low side, a single turbo setup is probably going to run close to $5k plus additional upgrades to the powertrain and still can't come close. The money and performance factors don't make sense to switch.
