What's the WORST compliment you gotten about your Z ?

The lady at Bread Co. drive-thru every morning tells me how "cute" the car is. I got another "cute" compliment at the dealership. :wtf:

My neighbor's son (about my age... mid 20's) consistently gets it wrong and says it's a "sick 350". I have all the love in the world for the Z33, but c'monnn man!

I also got a lot of cute car comments.

I don't grade any compliment as being bad with this car, whether it's misinformed or offends my ear. If people are nice enough to say something, that's what I remember.

Mine got called a Transformer by a little kid....

My brother has a Hyundai Genesis too. Ouch.

One I had recently, if it counts, is some pri*k trying to jab a key/screwdriver/some sharp object through my rear quater panel while I was out shopping.:mad:

95 percent of the ppl i meet have nothing but compliments to say about the car. most ask what model is that. a few make the 350 reference as i kindly tell them they are wrong (with a smile) and tell them the Correct name for it. others simply snape photos and then continue to tell me of days of old and their old Z's they had.... all the while , having that longing look in their eyes on my car.

i guess you can take the High School Honda drivers reving their engines tryin to Race my car, as the WORST compliment but i take them as " little boys are misinformed is all, therefore i spare them their lives" :stirthepot: ( track of course) on the road? i go cruise speed.

me too :( every girl that sees my car calls it cute...

Some guy pulled up next to me in a pickup ( don't remember the make) and said I had a nice japanese rocket. I honestly didn't know how to respond. He then asked if it was fun. I said yea and went on my way.

Also had someone pull up next to me, again in a pickup, and ask what nismo meant. I didn't know how to answer that in the three seconds we had at the stop light, so I just said it means sportier.

I showed my wife a picture of a McLaren 12C in a magazine last night. She told me that the 370 is sexier.

That's OK, she is probably not a "car person", so I would have taken that statement as a compliment. Most times, I just consider the source and go from there. I usually get "man, that car is really sick" and yes, most people don't have a clue what kind of car it is. I do notice a lot of people just stare at it while I am driving. Of course, I stare at it all the time as well :yum:.

I get 350 all the time... even my Nissan service (girl) referred to it as a 350 numerous times.

Otherwise no one has ever insulted me (to my face at least).

i get batmobile alot too. 350 a ton. Or "what is that". this one kid was trying tell me how bad the 370z sounds and that they sound ricey. I just calmly disagreed and moved on.

Well, idk about my worst compliment, but my best was from a guy driving a black 911 Turbo who gave me a thumbs up on my Nismo. I should have asked him if he wanted to trade!

I hate getting called cute, specially coming from a MINI (cute machine) I thought nobody would call the Z cute but I still get chicks all the time...

This girl I dated said the Z was "girlie"....I didn't call her back for a second date. True story.

Personally, I don't understand why people get so butt hurt when somebody tries to complement their car & they don't know exactly what type of car it is ie, 350, Porsche, Audi ect. Not everyone is an avid car buff & knows every single model of car. If they say it's nice, be nice & say thank you while explaining to them what it actually is. Attitude seems to bounce. :cool:

All the women I know say it's cute. I say "it's husky yet athletic... sort of like you."

This made me laugh out loud at work.

I get cute sometimes, I think thats just girls being nice, too scared to say its hot or sweet or anything like that. Cute to me is a compliment and not demeaning in anyway, perhaps their way of opening up a means of communication?

Then she is a keeper. :)

It is all how it was meant. i.e. Datsun. Loving Datsun or Loathing Datsun.

One of the greatest compliments I have ever received, was from my Orthodox Jewish buddy who said:

"You are so good are you must be Jewish. Are you sure you are not?"

At the same time I could have taken it as an insult. As only Jews are good.

Cute is just because it is small... don't put too much emphasis on that.

Mine gets mistaken for a GTR all the time... but thats because I am making mine look like one lol. I take it as a compliment :happydance:

I pulled up to a car show and two older men who also owned new 370's a coupe and a convert came over to me when I parked and asked me if "FairLady" was some special model that they never heard about. I have the FairLady Z badge on the car. I had to explain to them the history of the FairLady Z emblem and they looked at me like I had two heads.

Ive had 2 people say nothing special about your leased base model z, you don't even have the sport package and technically the bank still owns it.

I've gotten this one too. Or "oh it looked like a Porsche" Which to me is a greattttt compliment. Especially since I love Porsche's.
