Default New Car Odometer Mileage

Good morning 370z gurus. Just found a 370z with the exact combo that I like. Price is within acceptable range. However, the odometer reads 65 miles. That seems to be pretty high for a new car. Consider 370z is a pure sports car, people who drove it must push pretty hard. It scares me a bit just to think about people reved it to red line before the engine has gone thru proper break-in.

Should I avoid this car? Please let me know what you think.

it also could have been transferred from one dealer to another
and also miles from the docks to loading and sometimes even docks to dealer
i took delivery on a different sports car back in 2007 that had 213 miles on it, but had it delivered from a different state because i wanted certain options

just take it!

I agree, ask you sales guy why it has 63 miles. My wife's BMW had about 70 miles because it was driven from another dealer.

What state are you in? Here in Texass, over 50 miles and it has to be sold as a demo, aka a couple thousand less... Then you come on the forum and buy an extended powertrain warranty for cheap

I thoguht about asking the sales person, but I'd guess he'd tell me what I like to hear. He will never say the car has previously gone thru a 60 mile hardcore test drive by a teenager.

Interesting. 50 mile = demo in Texas. I'm located in southern CA.

Mine had over 200. No worries. I had it transferred from a different dealer. Not something that would stop my car purchase.

Over the 2 months I have owned it, it now has over 7,000 miles. The 200 original were insignificant

Mine came off the trailer (from the train) with 8 kilometers on the odometer. After pdi and dealer prep, it had 26 kilometers.

Can you say joy-ride?

I'd stay away IMO. I had test driven one with ~25 miles. Needless to say, I did redline it once. Who knows what else happened within that time frame. Transfer to another dealership or not, I would have it on a trailer to me and not driven. Who's to say it wasn't abused by whoever was driving it? I ended up getting another one that had 7 miles when I took delivery.

I've heard they do that before shipping to test the cars. You won't find a lot car with less than 30-40 miles from what I've seen. Way too low to be a demo. You're fine. Ask the sales guy though and see what creative bs he comes up with. 90% know nothing about the testing of the cars or cars in general.

Mine had 70 kms on it. The sales manager had used it for a few days. You get a warranty so don't worry about it.

anything under 100 miles is considered brand new. You get the warranty, so you should be covered.

Ive never purchased a new car before, but if I was buying new, that's what i'd expect. Too much maybe... but Id like to know its only been my car if I was paying new money

Buy it, just get a warranty!
I redline every car I have ever test driven... Lol... Might not be "good" for the car, but I want to know how the car REALLY feels...
After I buy it I still drive it conservatively for the next few thousand miles
