A little kid barely old enough to talk pointed at the car with wide eyes and said 'race car'.
That's when I knew the Z passed the 'hot wheels' test. |

I hate when people just ask outright how much your paid for your car...sometimes I find it rude depending on the context
Anyways, I got asked that today again by 2 guys outside of the grocery store...both are like "Oh, I thought that was easily a 100K car" lmao :rofl2: I was like no, not at all. He said "well it sure looks like it" I can't argue with a compliment like that..the car does get more looks than cars with 2 or 3x the price tag. |
I got a parking ticket on campus, and at first I was furious, because I was parked in the correct spot. As I got closer and read the ticket, it was a "warning" and the comment said "nice car" I will post a pic of it up later!

So Friday I was cruising back from work around 530 down 495. All of a sudden in my rearview I see a black ISF speeding ahead. Thing was *MINT* looked like it had just been fully detailed. I was in the far left lane, and as he approached he stayed in the far right lane.
I noticed he kept looking over at my car, as I was his, (my windows are very tinted so he can’t see in... I think...) I proceeded to drive up ahead of him until he shoots over next to me and signal to put my window down. He was driving like a dink, but made it look good. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I obliged. I look over and the middle aged Asian man yells out DUDEEE I FREAKIN LOVE YOUR CARRR!!!! :driving: :happydance: Maybe he was a fan of the Z's heritage or maybe our cars are just that sexyy!?! I yelled back that his car is amazing, we exchanged thumbs up (phone numbers cough coughh...), and he sped away into the distance... |
Nice.

Got a wave and a head nod from an Audi TT driver this weekend (pretty cool I thought)-which is more than I can say for the PW Roadster Z I passed when I was in town 2 days earlier...also received a thumbs up (with my husband in the car with me-so he saw it too;-) from a guy in an old van this weekend.
god I love this car!:yum: |

if you HAVE NOT lived it, it absolutely gives you new perspective. |
some guy at a Z meet thought the 370z comes stock turboed. LOL. He was like wats that extra pipe under your hood. :bowrofl:
Well it was a good compliment I let him have his fun with it until I broke the news to him, he was less than pleased. |

Today a high school kid in his G35 followed me home just to get a good look at the Z. Turns out he lives just a few blocks down the street.
We shot the **** for a few minutes and he took some pics for instagram. His G35 was pretty sweet too. Feels good man. :icon17: |

The 370z... Making ladies unconciously check their hair since 2009.

I do not know if this is a COMPLIMENT.
I always find someone taking pictures of my car parked or being on the road. OR have someone always run close to my rear end and swerved fast to my blind side and egg me for a race. The other day a chick with a FIAT 500. Are you serious???? Why not lets just go race in my BED!:tiphat: |
yep id take it as one. anyone taking a photo of the car (though not spoken) means they admire it enough to take a picture so they can share it with other people "look what i saw!!! look look look."
in my mind tho, the most comical is the 12-13 year old girls that literally flip open the door of their parents car, run over with their Smart phones and snap photos...all the while saying " SO HOT...SO HOT SO HOT!!!" |

I like when people have no idea what it is (even though it says NISSAN & 370Z right on it) and have a total look of shock and amazement! These also tend to be people who are not car people though but they end up liking our cars, I have a neighbor just like this. Day I brought it home was the only time I ever saw him check out a car, he still asks the occasional question and I have had it for 3 summers now!
Washed it last night and he came over to talk about the Z, which made me think of this thread. |
The best compliment has to when people stop and take a picture. No need for words... :) LOL funny I was just driving to lunch today and a little kid inside an SUV took out his phone and started taking pictures and pulling on his Dad's arms to look at the car. LOL. You know you've done good when a car appeals to little kids to seniors.

I was once leaving a practice to get in my car when i noticed 5 japanese men in their 40's and 50's standing behind their car which was parked next to mine. When I came over and opened the trunk 3 of the men turned towards me in unison in a semi deep bow. I was so blown away and flustered that I bowed my head nervously back and hurried into my car.

My story is similar-there is a japanese automotive parts transplant company close to where I live-one of the Japanese there has a really nice new black Cadillac SRS, I pass him occasionally in the local town and he about breaks his neck watching me drive past...it's happened at least twice. = Japanese in American car-American in Japanese car-both staring as they pass-almost like a commercial...LOL:icon17: |
After getting pulled over, given a field soberiety test (passed), and breatherlyzer (passed with a .06) trooper stated "what is this, a $70k or so car?" Held back the smile and said close enough. Told me to just be careful and not waste a beautiful car like that. Told him that is why I passed both tests. Only had 2 glasses of wine and split a beer with the old lady over a 4 hr night. They were out doing random checks that night and I was one of the lucky ones that got choosen. BTW I dont ever drink more than 3 drinks over a night out and drive home. I know some will say dont drink any but when you go out for dinner and want to relax and enjoy the meal I like a glass or 2 of wine. Some may disagree but oh-well.

When my mother in law first saw my Z she said that it makes her car look like an old grandma car. She drives a Mercedea CLK convertible. :)
|
A gentleman in his 60's asked me what year the car was as my BF and I were getting out of it. I told him 2009, and he replied that he used to have a 280Z and still regretted selling it. That's the second time I've had this conversation with a total stranger. Seems the Z cars leave a lasting impression...

I was walking out of a convenience store yesterday and I'd seen this guy inside - long black dyed hair, lots of tattoos, obvious metalhead vs. me being a prototypical "jock"/athlete type.
Outside he was getting into his car. As I was getting in mine, he said, "You've got a badass f***ing ride, man." Obviously the car transcends any perceived personality differences to the point that he felt inclined to compliment it. I also once posted about how I got compliments from an elderly lady, a teenager, and a little kid the first day I got it. Funny, because I wasn't a big 370Z fan in the beginning when I was still rollin' my 350Z... but it's obviously a vehicle that's well-liked across many/most demographics. |
I was taking my GF on a 5 star date at my local Chili's Resteraunt and when I pulled up and stepped out I had a guy tell me that I have the best sounding Z that he has ever heard. Which put a smile on my face since I just installed my GTHaus exhaust last week.
I'm not going to lie..it does sound badass! |
Pulled up to a light when i first got my Z (bone stock), a Camry pulls up next to me in the right lane. Little kid sticks his head out the window points and says "look mommy a racecar".
|
stopped at a hess station to get some arizona tea and peanut butter m&m's and two guys in a jacked up dodge dually truck say "damn man that thing looks like its hauling *** just sitting there"
|
Let me preface this by saying that I don't have a 370Z yet (going this weekend to test drive, MAYBE buy).
However, I finally saw another one in town, silver; only the third one I've seen in a month since I've been paying close attention. I like the scarcity of this car... saw it on the 10 this morning - I eye f*cked the hell out of it as I passed. I hope that was enough of a compliment to the person driving. ;) |
