What's the best compliment you gotten about your Z ?

My poolee's (future Marines) say " Nice Porsche Sir" lol

Nismo89 06-23-2012 11:38 PM

the best is when the elderly folk walk up after seeing my car and start telling me stories of days of old.... of their 240, 280z's.... how they would take it to the strip every friday and saturday night and just lay the rubber down. Their memories of speed and avoiding the Cops. the thrill and the excitement of the wind against their faces. the longing for their Z sports car again...... and at the end of it all..... just plain and simple..... admiration..... thats what i enjoy.

Plain and simple....the Z community......

I believe I once heard the term "p*ssy magnet"... hopefully that wasn't referring to that it is a girl's car.

The guy in the brand new CTS-V came to me and said nice car, lol... He even offered to trade, but I had to take over his payments, lol

Mannysrt8 06-24-2012 01:33 AM

The best compliment I got on my Z wasn't in words. I was parked at the video store as my wife went in to return a movie.

A japanese man, with his 2 sons (est ages around 4and 8 years old) sees my car. He stops both his kids about 7 feet away. He kneels down and puts his youngest son to lean on his knee, while getting the attention of his older one.
He points at the car and starts telling the kids something in his native language. His face filled with enormous pride. He looked at the car with so much admiration for what his country made. And watching him share it with his children with that look of pride on his face was the biggest compliment ever. They stayed around 30 seconds kneeled down talking to his kids. Then when he got up... he waved at me and gave me the hugest thumbs up I ever got driving any car. As he went to walk in the establishment, they kept scoping every line and curve of my ride.
He really made me feel proud to own my Z. I've gotten a lot of huge verbal compliments on my Z. But this one was filled with so much emotion in that mans face. Its something I will never forget.

kenchan 06-24-2012 06:46 AM

Best ones are no words, just the look of jelly.

MattP725 06-24-2012 08:03 AM

I've caught numerous people taking pictures of it when I leave a store. I've even had a few kids posing with it. It's funny to see that many people admiring a car that isn't over 100k.

I like "Can you take me for a ride?" No Penthouse stories to report though.

Sunday while at the track, somebody had his family with them and dad posed with my car pretending it was his.

I love when older people roll down their windows and I get to hear stories of their old 240/260/280s.

Yesterday there was a guy outside of Harris Teeter (grocery store) who said "Hey, you need valet? just drop the keys here :icon17:"

DarkZ 06-24-2012 01:39 PM

When I first bought mine, I drove it to a place where a bunch of my friends were. The first thing one of them said to me was: "I hate you." :icon17:

I took it as a compliment.

KERMIT 06-24-2012 01:55 PM

I was driving through a small town, stopped at a stop sign. Young boy, about 7-8 yo, on the corner said "nice ride mister!"

370Z JT 06-24-2012 02:00 PM

A guy followed me the other day, and asked if I wanted to sell my car.

Drex 06-24-2012 03:20 PM

best was a little 5 year old boy who asked "is that your racecar?"

sungear 06-24-2012 06:05 PM

The other day I went through the drive-thru lane at Sonic and ordered a route 44 cherry limeade. When I go to the window the girl told me that the drink was free just because she liked my car!

:roflpuke2:

I never get any free drinks in my car :(

gy954 06-24-2012 06:58 PM

Neat Question

Just yesterday I pulled up in front of the local hardware store and a guy standing there said, "Great wheels". They are the stock rims I PlastiDipped black. So we're chatting away and I'm telling him about some of the mods I've done, and I conclude with, "...and you may have noticed the daytime running lights as I pulled in."

"No, man," he says. "I was too blown away by your wheels to notice anything else."

It's thanks to this forum that I know about PlastiDip, so you all can take a bow.

About two weeks ago I was at the glen cove meet and a farther and son walked over to my car with a camera in the young kids hand. The son asked the farther "what kind of car is this dad" The farther replied "this is one of those fast Nissans I was telling you about, we saw the GTR and nowthis is a 370Z" They took pics of the car then walked away.

blackcherry20 06-24-2012 07:07 PM

My husband, after i convinced him to drive my Z, grinning as he tells me "this car is like a little rocket!".

Yeah! Can u believe it?! He has a Harley so i thought he'd jump at the chance-he was not impressed initially-he has however encouraged me to test my limits! I think he secretly likes the idea of me driving this hot car -fast and aggressively!:yum:

biggestsack 06-24-2012 09:32 PM

I was cruising over to my parents house and came to a stop at a red light when an older gentleman looked over to me and said, "I love the exhaust note of your car!" He asked if I would stand on it off the light so he could really hear it. I obliged :D

Arc 06-24-2012 10:08 PM

Just a few minor things.

At a gas station while I was filling up, two Hmong guys in their Honda Civic were pulling out and both looked in my direction. LOL

As I sped past a high school, some kids were crossing the street and I can hear one of them say "I want to get that car!"

At a Target store parking lot as I was getting out of my Z, a guy walks up to me and asks to check my car out. :)

Jordo! 06-24-2012 10:30 PM

From a random woman: "Daammmn. That car is ******* hot. It's makin' me horny!"

I replied, "Uh... that's what I like to hear".

FrancoPhoto 06-24-2012 10:32 PM

Yeah, that right there threw every other compliment out the window. Lol.
:tiphat:

NitrousZ34 06-25-2012 01:45 AM

Since my 350z is heavily modded i get way more attention then my 370z, and living in a small city, everyone knows my car. I have a seibon cf hood, cf oem fenders, cf trunk with plexiglass, amuse front bumper and ings +1 rear bumper along with 315s in the rear. I'll always get the people on the road that turn their necks and the people at the gas stations asking how fast it is and this and that. I'm sure we all get compliments from our friends saying "your car is so sick" and the ones from the lady friends saying "you should let me drive it ;)" Then we always say that magical sentence that makes them think twice... "can you drive stick?" Lol gets them everytime.

Before i started dating my last ex gf haha, she popped the "can i drive your car" question on me... I said the same thing like always, and she goes yeah i can, i drive a stick shift 350z too. Long story short, she never got to drive my car because i convinced her that the nitrous was to much for her and she would have trouble with my short shifter. The relationship fell apart thank god lol. She was soooo hot, wish i could show you guys pictures lol

gotchu99 06-25-2012 02:32 AM

I guess I will chime in. Last summer was driving on the expressway in the HOV lane when I seen a Carrera in the far right lane. The Porsche makes a hard 2 lane change to get even with me. I'm thinking,"here comes some kid in daddys car who wants to run me." Then I notice its an older guy wearing a baseball cap, kinda resembled Larry David. He keeps turning his head to look at me, but can't see in due to my tint. He then rolls down his window, points, and gives me the thumbs up. I rolled my window down, pointed, and gave the thumbs up right back. He then slowly peeled away back to the far right lane. Best compliment I've gotten.

Last night at cracker barrel, some dude told me "your car looks like a d1ck". I don't know what that means but I took it as a compliment...
