Let's say a gallon of gas costs $4. 370Z, $4 X 500 = $2,000 a year. Boxster, $4 X 400 = $1,600 a year. In a Boxster, you save $400 a year in fuel.

To make up the $20,000 purchase price difference.......it would take 50 years in simple math!!!

But being that we're not simple people, let's take that $20,000 that was saved due to buying the 370Z and we put it in an investment that earns 4% interest. We would make $800 annually. Not sure about the gas mileage.....but the Greenbacks mileage sure goes a longer way with the Z!!!

Plus the Boxster spanking the Z in just about every way hmmm?
it is not "math". it is maths short for mathematics not mathematic.

Truth spoken although not at all related to the topic. Just so no one discredits you, I've quoted some parts from the daily writing tips website.

Quote:
Is “math” or “maths” the correct word to use as the shortened or colloquial form of the word mathematics? The answer is that it depends on where you are.
To North American speakers of English, the word to use is “math”, as in “I majored in math”, and “maths” would sound wrong. Speakers of British English, however, would always say “maths”, as in “I took a degree in maths”. They would never say “math”.
There are logical arguments for both spellings. The word “mathematics” can be considered as a singular and as a plural noun. Both the Oxford and the Merriam-Webster dictionaries say the word is plural – hence the s on the end – but also that it is usually used as if it was a singular noun. So, most people would say “mathematics is my best subject” and not “mathematics are my best subject”. The shortened form “maths”, then, makes sense because the word is still a plural noun and so should still have the “s” on the end. On the other hand, it could be argued, “math” makes sense because it seems wrong to remove the letters “ematic” from the middle of the word and leave the final “s”.

Hey nicknick, you sound like my English teacher from high school. I'm no English major, but I can tell you this......in your country the water spins the wrong way when going down the toilet!!!

Vbp6US, I'm impressed!

Thanks...

Funny thing is the 370Z cars get MPG and they are about as fast..

Then you mod them, and they are as fast or faster with MPG...

Technology has come a long way..

I am glad I have both cars ..

Yes I do, and the Old Z has all the parts needed for additional HP's..

I did all the other work first...Handling, Brakes, ect.. i hate people who just dump money into power on these old cars..And then leave 40 year old handling and brakes...

But i will need more horsepower to play with the new cars, but in good time, and more money..

For what I spent in modifications , 30K, I could have the fastest Z/28 around... but then It would not corner, or stop, and it would have been useless on the track..

So I did it right, but I need more cash..My Builder does LS/6 speed swaps, so we will see...

Funny how it sounds faster than the Z Car, but it isn't...

Why don't you get a Fisker. It's electric and three times the price of the Z. When you buy a sports car, don't even think or bring up MPG's unless your car is one type of sport hybrid or electric motor like a Tesla. If your worried about MPG's a sports car is not the way to go. Anyways MPG's are based on driving style, you can pull 30MPG's in the Z strictly highway driving.
When you buy a sports car, you don't really brag about your MPG's.

^I was the same way when I got mine a month ago. Co workers and friends asked my mpg and I said 'I have no clue. I didn't buy it for fuel efficiency.'
