Default 370z Top Gear Power Lap

Here's the Top Gear Power Lap time for the 370z. For those that don't watch Top Gear, its an automotive show on the BBC and each week they take a car out to their track and time a single lap driven by their team racing driver The Stig. He pretty much drives each car balls to the wall and with all nannies turned off (so VDC would be off).

The 370 sits in the middle of the pack when compared to the whole list (mind you, these are all sports cars). Check out the company it hangs out with:

The full list can be found here:
BBC - Top Gear - Power Laps

Shocked? Impressed? Unimpressed?

I think it certainly gives credence to the idea that the "Z" is the best "bang for your buck" sports car out there.

I think I'm more impressed that an electric car is up there with the same lap time as a GT3.

370z: Slightly faster than a Renault Megane. This should be Nissan's new tagline in marketing.

I watched the episode with the Maloo a couple days ago (probably a repeat, I know). It looked like the driver was going to lose that thing on every corner! Very fun to watch, powerful truck.

What kind of track is it ... Hard to believe it beat the viper by 1 sec ....

Dodge Viper SRT-10 1.28.5

Believable if the track is short without any long straights

That list doesn't specify whether the track was wet or dry. Many of those cars were driven on a wet track and would be much faster on a dry day. Check Wikipedia for a complete list with track conditions.

The GT3 is a wet track time, the Z a dry track. If you think our Zs are as fast as 911 GT3s, you've been smoking something. Or you're just high from the fumes you've inhaled from the GT3 smokin past you...

Yeah that's one thing I noticed about the list is that they didn't mark the wet vs dry like they do on the actual power lap board. makes me wonder how fast the gt3 would be on the track on a dry day. either way, i think its pretty impressive to even be around that arena.

The Cayman did it in 1.26.2 . That's even more impressive!

I agree, it has to be a curvy/turn oriented track.

I was wondering why they listed the Lexus LFA as "wet" and not other cars.

When they tested the viper, the track was listed as "very wet"

Yeah, put the Z on a wet track and watch it fall off that list completely.
