 No problem. I don't have any daughters, just sons. You can be my honorary daughter. I will be having a grand-daughter soon. Colin and Brianna are thinking of naming her Faye Danger Clark. I don't know if they are sticking with the middle name or not, but I fully support it.

The Recaro baby seat I ordered arrived and it is nicer than any seat I have in any of my cars.

Need the air leak on the passenger side airbox fixed.
Fuel sending unit needs to be replaced.
There's an oil leak on a cam sensor. (Uncle showed me)
Spark plugs need to be checked, small ticking noise sounds like misfiring. (Uncle pointed out)

dropped off the return package (mic) to ups this am. :)

so while looking for circular polarizers for my gopro, i found this faux sony mic with cable thingie from polar-pro. they demo that the mic does well. i shall give this a try. i'd crack up if this works better than the audiotechnica or the $250 rode mic. hahaha. lol

but if you think about it, most condenser mics (even cheap ones) have relatively flat response. it's really the pre-amp and impedance that make the difference especially when the gopro can not adjust input level. they need to add that feature on their future hero models.

hey, i have 2 more mics coming to me... cheapo's. fake sony and a real sony stereo condensers in a different shape. both worked well on a kodak i8 so im assuming it will work well on my gopro... :ugh2: will find out later. :ugh2:

TV tuner, the elgato? I've heard very good things about it but haven't used one myself.

I have yet to hear about issues using external mics on a Kodak Zi8.... I'm guessing the mics used with the GoPro will disappoint. But I'll stay hopeful. Have you looked at the Sennheiser 400 mke?

Hi Mr.kenchan :tiphat: sounds like you had a good weekend. I did the usual yard maintenance, house cleaning, then a fun day at the Grand reopening of the local Nissan dealer with my little guy. I found out he's afraid of clowns on stilts :rofl2:

Sunday was a out-and-about family day finished off with a quick spin in the Z. Good times

yep, elgato eyeTV it's called.

the one thing i noticed about these mics is that if the input level is low after plugging it into the gopro, chances are the S/N will be terrible due to the gopro's internal high pitched noise unless you place your mic next to a loud sound source. inside the cabin of my z (not quiet but not super loud) both rode (at -10dB) and audiotechnica were too low.

with the cheepo mics that i choice, the sensitivity is on the higher side but not high quality so they are probably about -3dB lower vs a nice mic like the rode.

the rode would do well in quiet environments like say in my music room or inside a house, inside a quiet car if the mic was held by hand. when i spoke into the rode at 0dB, the gopro sounded acceptable.

also the isolators were not enough to suspend the mic housing from its holder over bumps even with my conti DW's. i can hear the mic housing bumping the holder. :ugh2:
