Pint ...Hang in there..
Unknown370 just got hail damage... Remember, it could always be worse... |
Oh damn, did he? That sucks!
|
Sorry I hijacked your celebration big brother Fire. Please post more pics when you can!
Thanks for all the concern guys. Sometimes i just wish I didn't care about the car so much. In the end, it is just a car. I'll probably get the paint fixed this weekend and I'll bitch out the dealership tomorrow. :) Y'all have a good night! :tiphat: |

1. gopro clips at 12 on the volume level on my pioneer. 2. fake sony from polarpro or waterver they're called clipped at 10. 3. bullet sony doesnt clip at all even at 12, but the sensitivity is much lower. so i ordered yet another mic. lol :icon17: the sony one but the real one because the real one is less sensitive to bass and a lot more flat per the comparisons i saw. this could be the one that might work in my car. :p i will run another test on friday hopefully. in the mean time, i ordered a backup 32GB class10 just in case something happens to the one i have right now. been pulling the thing in/out many times so i think sooner or later it's going to break or i will drop it somewhere i wont be able to find. :eekdance: if the real sony fails too, im going to wire up a small 10k ohm resistor on the fake one. that appears to attenuate about -6dB and should work. btw, that cupholder mount place sent me an email stating that the unit is indeed a defect and will arrange to get me a replacement. |
Wow! you really don't mess around when you commit to doing something do you?
I'll just wait 'til you're all done testing, and then I'll buy the one you chose! |

yah, until i have the exact mic that works for me (or a setup with a quick mod) i wont post it as it probably wont work for others. the fake sony one isn't too bad. sensitivity is almost right on, but just needs to be flatter and/or attenuated 5-6dB for car use. i found in-line attenuators online so worst case i will use that. sad is the thing costs more than the mic. lol :icon17: |
Hello Hello Everyone!! :tiphat: :tiphat:
Howdy from Home!! :tiphat: :tiphat: I've been absent from here for 2 days (I think) , came back last night, originally the arrival time is 4:00pm, but the first flight got a 60mins delay :icon14:, therefore we cannot make to the 2nd flight :icon14: :icon14:, the original plan was the 1st flight take off at 10:35am arrive Atlanta at 11:20 and the 2nd leave at 12:50 then arrive Toronto at 4:00pm.... Since the 1st flight has a 60mins delay, it arrives Atlanta at 12:40, thus we will miss the 2nd flight, Delta switches us to another flight, which leaves Atlanta at 6:11pm.... better than nothing :ugh2:, thus eventually I arrive Toronto at 8:15pm..... I woke up at 6:45am and until I settle everything at home it was like 1:00am, wanted to check-in here but passed out right after I turned on the laptop... :icon14: :icon14: First thing I did after got home, drove the Z   Actually I had to go out to pick up some tennis racquets... then drove around a little bit... No place better than home, No place better than Z. Z related: I washed and drove my Z today....  Just power read 12 pages.... Fire... Congrats Congrats on the ZL1!! Is the cap a gift from the dealership? And it only comes with a cap?? Any special ZL1 key-chain stuffs like that?? Look forwards to more pics!!! I strongly suggest the clear bra, especially for the bumper, it's $$$, but it worth every penny!! Ms.Pintsize725, hang in there... Z-Hugz for you!! One suggestion... is that the only dealer in your area?? Maybe you can do a search or ask some members in here to see is there a Mod-Friendly dealer in your area, I notice those dealers does a better/detailed jobs.... good luck.. good luck... Mr.kenchan!!!! :hello: LOL!!! Have you decide on the camera lens yet?? Still looking at the 35mm-f/1.8?? It is equal to 50mm in FX.. which is a very standard focal length... Not sure about your budget.. otherwise I suggest you this lenses It's equal to a FX 50mm-105mm, which is excellent for stand to portrait, it's one of the flagship lenses from Nikon for this range and since the lenses are Nano coated, the pictures are extremely sharp... my brother has this lens... and he strongly suggest it to me  I remember you are looking for a lens for portrait, so I believe a DX-50mm, which equal FX-75mm will work the best for you... Anyway, it's your choice, bring your camera to a store to give it a try... Also good luck with the mics... with all those you have, I bet you gonna be busy for a long while, LOL  O.F.C. :driving: |
There are a LOT of recommendations for the clear bra on here, but the cost just seems, astronomical to me.
I just had my bumper resprayed (while getting some crappy parking damage repaired) and had it done at one of the most reputable shops in the area, and the bumper respray was under $300 and looks better than new. Perfectly polished, it's like hard candy... if candy came in platinum graphite. I'm all for protecting an investment, but I'm a stickler for detail and I hate that I can always see the edges of a clear bra. I'd just much rather get a respray now and then. Just my $0.02. |

The cost to clear-bra the bumper does cost more than repaint it, that's why many people choose to repaint rather than the clear-bra. The difference between the clear-bra and repaint: 1) Are you happy to see all the stone-chips and damages on your bumper every time you look at your bumper?? Remember you don't repaint your bumper every week, therefore you see those damages every time you wash your car.... for 2-3 years.... 2) Let say you just pick up and drive your car for 10 days, and you found couple stone chips on the bumper... a new car less than 2 weeks old.... will you feel freaking pissed off?? 3) You got a stone chip less than a week after the repaint..... 4) You repaint your bumper.... it looks excellent and shiny.... and it looks newer and shinier than the 3 years old hood and side panels.... thus everyone can notice you just repainted the bumper... 5) Most repute clear-bra shops custom made/cut the 'bra', and also, the edge doesn't really shows unless you carefully look at it, especially on black, silver and grey, it's almost invisible.... Those are my own experience and opinions... where my previous black 350z did not have a clear-bra on the bumper, and my current PW 370z does have the clear-bra. my $0.02 :tiphat: |
