Ugh, I've had to participate in that course... as a result they found the need to develop another course, something to do with sensitivity... Beats the crap out of me, friggin' bleeding hearts.

I don't know much about 370Z springs specifically but I'm guessing that these are progressive or dual-rate springs (less space between some coils, just by physical appearance.) These work out so that some of the coils end up compressed and touching under normal load and expand to keep the spring positioned when the springs are unloaded (like when you take it over some sweet jumps.)

If that is the case then the rubber is there so the springs don't clank when they compress and touch as the suspension is loaded/unloaded in regular driving (speed bumps, things like that.)

Oh you got jokes do you? :p

Sweet, so I can just scrap them right?

In this case, really, go with your instinct, can't worry too much...

Also, this is a DD that might serve you for only 2 yrs... after that, it's Mrs..

However… If I will suggest you, then the 1st is still Impreza then 2nd is Fit...

:tiphat:

hey there, mr.alcheg - thanks for all the suggestions. while i could give the wife my dd hypothetical cvt impreza-hatch in 2yrs, i think having an AT car to drive all through winter with my G&Z (both MT) hibernating in the garage is going to suck big time. i just hate AT. :eekdance:

I went stage2, blew my turbo, went 20g, blew my motor, then bent valves, then cracked a cam in half... thats when I said screw this and traded for the 370... They are great cars if you keep them stock. But remember there is a shop in Colorado that does nothing else but work on Subarus. That is all they do all day everyday and they are always busy...

yah, ive had 2 subaru's ive bought brand new and both had factory build problems. one was bone stock, AT (i got it for the wife), and it was so unreliable i decided after 3yrs when the warranty was up, to just sell it and get the FitSport since i had such success with previous honda's (except for the 06 civic EX i had built in ohio :icon14: was in the shop for a week for warranty repair under 1k miles).

ms.blackcherry - :hello: :icon17: ive been pretty transparent about this dd search this time. she's aware of all the cars ive looked at or test driven. i think this is wat she feels out of the few left on my short list.

my goal is to keep this dd for 5yrs minimum:

Impreza hatch cvt - 0% confidence i will keep for 5yrs.
Impreza hatch 5MT - 50% confidence i will keep for 5yrs.
FitSport MT - 60% confidence i will keep for 5yrs.
MS3 - 70% confidence i will keep for 5yrs.
Juke - 80% confidence i will keep for 5yrs.
Sonic - 100% confidence i will hate it in 1wk. :bowrofl:

Yep, That's basically it, make sure you plug the other end of the cable into the OBDII port ;) . I'll tell you, it's easier if you have someone else with you to start/stop the data logging, but not necessary.

Talk me out of it? Into it? I like that it won't affect the warranty and should fit well, and I do not want a super-loud racing type exhaust anyway. But a little louder than stock would be good.

Have any of you guys or gals heard one? Unfortunately I have not had the chance to hear one in person. I miss the "burble" of the 350Z on the highway a little. That's the only thing I miss, though. :)

hi davey :hello: i think the nismo catback is only slightly throatier. if you want sports car sound, you will probably want to get something else. :) i would get the nismo if my HOA complains my Z is too loud when i start the car at 7am on sundays. so far my neighbors have been very tolerant. the fujimura muffler i use sounds great, it is not quiet but not super loud either. cold start is on the loud side as the rpm's are high. i try to back completely out of the garage within 7-8sec of start up so the sound does not resonate so much inside amplifying the sound.

if it wasn't the fujimura i would get the greddy catback. :p

This one actually got messed up in the process of fixin the last blown gasket. My buddy accidentially ripped it a little upon re installation. I knew it was only a matter of time before it went. I am quite sick of replacing exhaust gaskets though. I called the ERZ/CNT, the makers of my test pipes, to order the proper gaskets instead of making my own again and they told me they dont sell replacement gaskets:icon14: WTF!!!! So Ill be making my own once again, ugh.

Good morn everyone. Its gonna be a stormy Friday here in the North East. Kinda sucks because now my hot tub installs for the day will be cancelled and Ill have to sit around the store all day. Sitting around the store is the WORST!!

mr.alchemy- sorry to hear about CNT not having replacement custom gaskets. thats sucks... we would all expect exhaust manufacturers to keep them at all times as service parts. wth to do when you sell the exhaust? the next person has to make his/her own gaskets again? that is f-ed.

sitting around in store = :postwhore: :rofl2:
