so i test drove the '12 FitSport im going to buy and placed deposit for max creditcard they would accept (it's a united airlines milage card :p ). im paying invoice. they said they can't go any lower and even if they did we're talking less than $100 so, considering how willing they were to help me, how they complimented my G, VIP like treatment, etc... i just let it go. it's still lower by a few hundred from the other no-go honda dealer that i could not get to for unknown reasons... lol :icon14: :eekdance: :rofl2: will take delivery late tomorrow morning. obviously im not going to sacrifice my early am Z motoring :driving: for this car. :icon17: bought insurance as well so everything is all set. this should all be over by tomorrow lunch time. :icon17: wheew... thanks for all the tips and suggestions, mr.alcheng. i thought i through very well and at the end i think this is the best solution for me for now...cheap, reliable, good history, swapable tires/wheels with my other Fit, and practical. thats all i need right now. will save the rest for Z mods. :stirthepot: |

Good Morning, err Afternoon All! :hello:
Been the day off from hell after the work week from hell with a full day at the office on Sunday to look forward to. I had to put in a mr. kenchan day of house work today. Started at 7:30 am on some chores - had to cut a door to clear a new area rug mrs. gurney just bought, fixed a noisy garage door, did some paint touch-ups around the house, and then started cleaning. It was one of those days where you just get on a roll and don't stop. I ended-up cleaning all the door frames, baseboards, windows, and plantation shutters. Dusted, vacuumed and even cleaned the toilets. Took a small break to eat, and then finally got to spend some time cleaning the Z. Since it was mainly dusty with some splashes from running through sprinkler run off every morning, I did a Griot's waterless wash. I'm really beginning to believe that it's easier than a conventional water and soap wash as long as the car isn't too dirty. Anyway, followed that up with some Griot's spray on wax, and I'm ready to do some cruising tomorrow morning north of Houston. I've been mapping out some different routes and taking notes on the roads that work. For the most part, it's worked out pretty well. There's a car show/meet tomorrow night that I hope to attend with some of the local Z's. I'll take some shots and post them tomorrow night after I get back. Enjoy your weekend all! :tiphat: |

I test drove one a while back and it reminded me of my 1979 Civic CVCC 5-speed. LOVED that little car. Anyone, please share some pictures of the new addition. |

Mr.kenchan,   Congrats on the purchase!!! I am glad to hear you are picking up the Fit tomorrow, it meets all your criteria and you'll be happy and worry free!! And you are very welcome to consider my suggestion :tiphat: , I always love to help people to spend their money... Quote:

So, now that I know I'm replacing the 6 in a matter of months to a year, I can't decide if I want to go super-practical, practical-fun, or just go nuts and get another sports car.
Decisions, decisions... |

wow, quite a work whore you were today. :icon17: GJ!! have fun out there at the meet. i think im going to do the waterless wash tonight too. it's still too windy and the last thing i need is dust collecting in the water beads while drying the car. :eekdance: |
congrats on the Fit, kenchan! I am not up to date, but what were your criteria when purchasing this car and what other models did it beat out?

actually my 370Z runs fujimura which is an axleback. the z's exhaust is aquate imho, other than the backpressure the muffler section has to muffle the sound. take that bit out and some post MAF tubes and the rpm rev freely to redline. :driving: |

the closest condenders i considered were: 2012 Impreza hatch (not a bad car, availability issues, price on higher end, just didnt care for subaru quality and service historically bad experience) MS3 (was my original choice but turned out not as good as i remembered from an earlier test drive i did back in 2009, and #2 from most expensive). Fiesta hatch (didnt like the interior, quite small cargo space) Focus hatch (just didnt care for this car, im not a ford person) SonicLTZ hatch (cargo space too small) GTI 5dr (great interior and all, but pricy, and driving dynamics like a sedan, dealer unwilling to work with price, most expensive). Juke SV 6MT(great driving dynamics, i liked the character, fun to drive, but cargo space and interior too small) used STI's... all were either modded or one was in an accident per carfax...didnt feel like paying for new one.. would've gotten one even premium gas. |

That doesn't work too well for me though. I have cheap automatic DD just because that's practical (wife doesn't drive stick) and because I'm inclined to worry about the car if it's one I really like. So instead I went for the "appliance" - cheap, good mileage, reliable, etc. as a daily driver. If I had another sporty car I liked, I would never want to park in the grocery store parking lot so I would get a door ding, but with my Civic I try to avoid them but if I get one I'd just suck it up and move on. |
