indeed with the mine's front lip i believe you will need to cut the cf fang and put resin to make them match up. i recommend even painting it black and then respray over at the very end with clearcoat. :) hummm... so shall i get a second small camera to aim at the cluster for my in-car vids (picture in picture via imovie) or shall i leave it as-is and get myself a 35mm f/1.8 prime for my D3100? :D |
Quote:
I would get 2 more GoPro cameras, one for the cluster, one in the cabin looking out, and one mounted low on the outside filming the front wheels, or filming behind you. Ok, maybe you need three more cameras. :bowrofl: |

The epoxy resins I've used have held up without a hitch. I bought a few yards of twill weave CF and epoxy resin just to play around with. My first project was a replacement handle for our dryer when the cheap stock handle cracked. A problem I found was common on this particular Kenmore Elite after a little research. (I also found that most home appliance complaints came from women who repeatedly broke their equipment by forcibly opening the doors once they had locked closed, and then subsequently called for class-action lawsuits against the manufacturer.) :shakes head: Clothes dry 20% faster now. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net..._7593233_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net..._6620862_n.jpg |

Hello guys and gals!!! :tiphat:
Finally have time to check-in. Going to the airport at 7:45am so I have about 6 hours of sleep, Been to a supplier's HQ today in here, Jacksonville, a very very modern and grand facility they have. Hope it could be a longer trip... but the good is I am going back tomorrow and I can Z again....  Quote:

1. Speed limit 25 or less, go 5 mph under. These are usually residential rodes with kids. 2. Speed limit 30, go no more than 5 miles over. 3. Speed limit 40 or 50, go no more than 10 mph over. 4. Speed limit 55, go no more than 13 over. 5. Speed limit 65, skies the limit! |
Quote:
And I've been quite a few places where the speed limit is 10 or 15. Much like 25-30, you do not want to exceed this. Usually those limits are at places like airports or schools (with high pedestrian traffic) or publicly accessible military bases. You never want to speed in these situations. |
Good morning, folks! :hello: Taking the Z in tomorrow for its 15,000 mile checkup. I detailed her yesterday evening to get rid of the grime from the Boston trip. Now, she's looking :yum:. I still have to vacuum the interior, though.

thanks on the lens input. folks have told me 35mm would be better than 50mm for car since i can take shots without backing up via sneaker zoom. i can also get the slight distortion i like to emphasize roundness on some shots, and use for scenic shots as well. not sure.. i will need to think this over more. you do realize the other speeds also includes kids in the car... Quote:
good morning everyone! :hello: |

A verrry wide (could be a four lane road) street that is smooth and has great visibility is posted at 25mph. The next street over which is narrow, bumpy AND runs alongside the middle school, is posted at 35mph. My neighbourhood, which is residential with lots of children present, has narrow streets that are barely two cars wide and necks down to the width of one car when people park in front of their houses, is posted at 25mph. I'd like to see it reduced to 15 or even 10mph. I think some of the 65mph zones in PA carry a double fine and double points for speeding. I think NJ has the same. I did a fair bit of driving in Ohio yesterday. I was going 10 over in the 70mph zones and was passing people like they were standing still. I have a feeling they are pretty strict there, too, now that I think about it. Drove home from Pittsburgh this morning. Three and a half hours in a torrential downpour on the PA Turnpike. The RE-11's did great, but it's easy to see that the roadway wasn't designed to drain the amount of water that was falling from the sky this morning. I hit quite a few patches that resembled ponds and streams. That got a little dicey! |
Good morning all.
My 2 cents on speed limit is around here you basically shouldn't go more than 5 MPH over the posted limit on any road except highway. Highway is 10 over Max. 7 over in a 55 MPH non interstate/highway road Can get you a ticket in Illinois....stupid I know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using Tapatalk 2 |

Hello Z friends :hello: |
My take on speed limits is that I make up my own. I respect residential and school zones but highways or backroads all bets are off. Gimme a ticket, I dont care. I cant drive 55.

ive witnessed a lady get hit j-walking downtown about two decades ago. some guy in a mustang (of all cars) was going maybe 25mph through the busy intersection, he had the right of way... when she got hit, she flew up into the air maybe 4-5ft and ended up hitting the guy's windshield with her head. lady held her head as she rolled off the hood, but appeared to only suffer minor external injuries. the guy was also holding his head confused wtf just happened. |
Uneventful drive into work today so I have nothing exciting to report on that end.
I did get to turn off a full three racks worth of servers, backup drives and other supporting equipment for an antiquated Heathcare system this morning! That's a rare occurance! The hospital in question has migrated off that system over six years ago! Have a great day all! :hello: |
this am 2 geeezers almost hit my G coming to work. one could have caused a serious if not fatal accident if i didn't make a very evasive manuver to avoid. i wouldn't have died, but the geezer's passenger could have.
i was like wtf, it's not geezer hour yet, stay home at least until 9am. :icon14: |
