high as in 5K to redline. i dont like making a lot of noise up there, i like the car to sound smooth.

I don't have the RC2, but I notice the noise depends how much the opening of the throttle, the Typhoon I am using doesn't make too much noise below 4000rpm, not much even above 4500rpm if the throttle is only 50% open

Temperature, to be honest, I wonder the CAI will make any difference since the OEM design works like a CAI already ==> outside air goes into a fully sealed chamber all the to the combustion. The plastic vs metal hose might have a bit affect.... but will it make a huge difference...

Sweet, I'm pretty sure my buddy has a ScanGauge that I can use. That Nuvi you've got and the mount are definitely sweet though. Excellent on the RPMs - I set the upshift indicator at 4K for my wife and she said is just about perfect. Thank you, sir. I'll rep your post when your rep resets.

That's good to hear, as I am also wondering how loud it will be at highway speeds on longer trips. We've got plenty of 75 mph and even some 80 mph speed limits in TX, so cruise control at 88 mph (10% rule = BACK TO THE FUTURE!!) in 6th gear runs upwards of 4K. Hopefully, when the throttle is not fully open in cruise it won't be as loud as say 2nd gear @ 4K pedal to the metal.

If you are cruising between 75-90mph at 6th, you are running at about 2500-3000k, I think, you won't hear any noise from the CAI.

Unless you floor the pedal, then you'll notice the difference, but the 'noise' does sound healthy

75 mph is a hair over 3K rpm in 6th I think. At 90 mph in 6th gear the upshift indicator which is set at 4K is solid red (that's also right about when my wife usually vocalizes her displeasure with my driving). However, the car is loud enough as it is at that speed that the intake should not add significantly to the noise. I can't wait to hear it. I just PM'd the guy for payment details.

When you are cruising at 3000rpm on the HWY, your throttle is only 20% opened, it won't make any noise.

Schweet! Is there an easy method to figuring out the % throttle at different cruising speeds in different gears?

That's actually not true, I'm sorry to say. The VVEL engine is designed in such a way that the throttle is wide open and the air intake amounts is controlled at the intake valves by the VVEL system continuously controlling the valve lifts and duration.

Yippee. Let's all hold hands, exchange nice flowery talk about value propositions, competitive advantages, customer-facing collateral and go-forward marketing strategies in our business ecosystems. It makes me want to stick a fork in my eye sometimes.

I seriously did not want to grow up and be doing this. Screw the paycheck, profit-sharing and 401(k). I have become that which I rallied against when I was young and idealistic. I am a sell out just like The Who – licensing their songs for TV.

That’s all for now. Sorry for the rant. I got my therapist’s voicemail just now.

Mr.onzedge, I am sorry to hear the stress and pissed-off you get from work. Sadly but it is true, ideality and reality are always goes against each other and sometimes we have to cope with it and try to find the balance point between the two, at least to make ourselves happy and relieved.

We tried our best and effort, the rest is not in our hands but at least we max out with no regrets!!

Head's up and who the hell care about those sh!t heads!!! F@@k them!! LOL

arr.... thank you happy, I must have mixed up throttle-open and air-intake amount.....
