You have to remove the machined aluminum piece on the Z1 tube. Not sure why they included those

Np, glad I could help

A few other things that made the install smoother for me...
I removed the strut bar. Unless you want to be in the garage cussing for a few hours, it's worth the time taking this off first.
I trimmed the tubes up 1/4" on the airbox side. Again, same thing as strut bar.
I also unbolted the airboxes. This made it easier to maneuver the tube onto the throttle body, once connected.
It's also easier with two people.

Strut bar was removed, working with a friend to finish it. Taking a break right now.

Done! I think.
Questions: Should I be feeling air from the spot where my hand is?
Does that other part im holding get removed for good?
Sorry for the bad picture, flash sucks.
Also, need to now figure out how to get this broken bolt out and replaced.

Not sure about the air bit, but it doesn't necessarily surprise me.

That's a resonator, and yes..you're done with it.

D'oh on the broken bolt!

Sure does look tasty! What's your immediate take?

Oh, did you do it yourself?

Oh yeah..Nice Hand! You should be a hand model!

Haven't taken it out for a spin yet. I wanted to check in and make sure the air issue was normal.

I did it with the help of a friend. He did most of the disassembling, I fitted the tubes, we both reassembled.

I should be a hand model! Lol

I'm guessing the SES light would illuminate, the car would throw a code. Maybe it would depend on the sensor? What sensor are you concerned with?

The MAF sensor. Is that the right name? Lol

Drove it to dinner and it definitely felt more responsive. No lag between pressing the accelerator and getting it to pick up. When I was driving home, I noticed that when I was braking my revs would jump up a bit before coming to a complete stop. To be honest, I've been noticing this for a few weeks. When I was completely stopped, my car idled so low that it sounded like it shut off for a few seconds. I don't know if its just me worrying but the revs seemed all over the place while slowing down and breaking. I haven't fixed the passenger side air box yet.

Maybe one of the Austin guys can drive it and let me know if I'm just worrying too much.

Make sure your airbox is seated properly. There's a rubber/foam gasket in the front there where the inlet is that feeds air to the airbox. I had to readjust mine so the gasket had a good seal going to the front of the airbox.
