Anybody know how to tell the difference between an engine backfire and a popping exhaust? My FI TDX exhaust has been popping three or four times when I shut down the engine for the last two days.

One near death sprint car story. We where racing at a local dirt track. Me and the drivers son(18 years old) went over to the wall and watched hot laps to see how the car was handling. Our car went by and we turned to watch it go down the back stretch. Behind us two cars came together and one headed for the wall. I caught it out of the corner on my eye. I pushed the other guy to the ground and dove myself. Where we where there wasn't any fencing just a 3 foot concrete wall. The car hit the wall and the wing went over it and us by about 6 inches. We got very lucky that day.
