Except for the language that was spoken LOL, this movie reminds me of my time on a carrier. I spent 6 months on the Kennedy(CV-67) in 87. The part where everybody was on the flightdeck was 100% what happened after we shot down 2 Lybian Migs.

Wow. A friend of my Dad's (also a retired Captain) was an A-7 pilot and was on the Kennedy the night she collided with the USS Belknap.

That wasn't a shinning time for the Kennedy :ugh2: It was kinda neat that one of the engines in one of the F-14's that shot the Migs down I nearly died testing it. I did the final testing of engines fixed in our shop. We would chain them down on the fantail and run them to full power to ensure everything was ok. Well the engine had a bad fuel heater and I changed it out right there. Jet fuel was everywhere and before the end of the testing a major storm moved in. We ended up with waves over the the flight deck later. Anyway I either slipped in the fuel or tripped over the fuel lines and started skidding towards the opening where the jet exhaust was. Luckily there was a lip about 2 inches high that my heels hit and stopped my slide. If I had gone over I would have been pulled right into the props just below. The guy on the other side of the engine didn't notice anything till I got up.

Dang. That is some dangerous business. One time I forgot to bring the correct documents to a client. Let me tell you, that was pretty hair-raising.

I agree happy. But the cars are built in Canada so being a Marine Vet doesn't mean as much. Had I been in the Royal Marines well then that would have been diff.

Hi Pint :hello:

I like the mods! Waiting for more pics

My Aumse stuff showed up today. I would be installing it but it's raining outside and I don't want to move the Z from one garage bay to the other until it dries up. Maybe I'll get around to it Sunday.

I drove my car to work today. First time in a while... had to drift around the parking lot of my shop. I love this car. ^_^

I got bored last night and used some plastidip on my front emblem and rear valence. The emblems are so difficult to do. I did it 3 times and still not happy. Eventually, once the front emblem is done to my satisfaction I'll do the rear emblems. I kinda like removing the chrome from the front of the car. The rear valence is very subtle. I doubt anyone would notice unless I pointed it out, but I like this and it came out very well. I did the fangs like 6 months ago and still looks perfect. Never touched up and still looks great.

Car is outside and we have some nice storms rolling through. Hail might be involved. At least if it does hail I can see the car from my window. :|

m4a1mustang 06-01-2012 02:29 PM

Hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour are possible in these areas.

Yep, that stinks. I got caught in hail about a year ago. I have about 20 dents in the roof and a dozen in my hood:shakes head: Nobody notices them unless I point them out.

m4a1mustang 06-01-2012 02:30 PM

If we get 1.5" hail I will probably have a lot of new glass and body panels. :icon17:

Then being in my twenties and thinking 35 was old...

So being 52, I should be in a walker by now...
