I mean, you can do the speed limit pretty much the whole way and still enjoy yourself. You won't have much fun on the straights, but many of the 318 corners demand lower speeds, so if the road is being heavily patrolled, you can still get your G-forces fix in the corners.

That's the key to The Dragon. Too much speed on the straights will get you a ticket. I think we usually keep it to MAYBE 50-60 on a clear stretch.

Hellbender... all bets are off. I should know. ;)

And he was probably thinking, "I'll catch up to the biker when he lays it down in a few corners." :icon17:

Well they didnt write me a state ticket. They wrote me a Public Ordinance ticket. He claimed that its a slap on the wrist for first time offenders. Like maybe only a $20 dollar fine. Sh1t Ill take a nice fat speeding ticket on the Dragon for only $20. Ima frame it, lol.

Really depends on the time and time of day. During the week, especially in the mornings, it's fairly light. But come Friday-Sunday it's generally busy with patrols. You just have to be careful. It's all part of the game. Sooner or later you'll get busted -- just make sure it's only for speeding (and nothing crazy). If you touch or go over the double yellow line it's a $500 fine.

Also depends on the cops. In 2011 they were basically very lenient with speeders but were cracking down on people crossing the double yellow.

They know they have to strike a balance between keeping the road fun, but also keeping it somewhat sane. Tighten your grip too much and the area loses revenue. Loosen your grip too much and all hell breaks loose!

:Iagree: I heard for more freedom.on the road and less traffic go.during the week

We came down on Tuesday. Started driving the Dragon on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday are pretty good. Friday you will most likely see police. Saturday you will definitely see police.

I never once did see a speed trap on Hellbender, though. Surprised me since I saw a couple last year. Sometimes a cop will sit at the boat landing before the bridge and pick people off carrying triple digit speeds.

Bucketlist2012 05-23-2012 10:49 AM

We have a road here that runs through Muir woods and out to Stinson beach. Highway 1.

The best line is in your lane and never going over the Line..The Bike's love the road and the groove is in your lane. Also the turns are so tight that and blind that you have to stay in your lane, and also the drop off is certain death..

I have never had so much fun in my life...It reminded me of being 12 and on a carnival ride..You would suck in air on the straightaways and hold your breath in the turns..

I used to run my Z/28 out there and amaze people with it's handling, BEFORE I installed the coil overs, A arms, Hotchkis, ect...

My neck would be sore for week... I can remember being WOT and having sports cars turn around to TRY to catch me..They never did.

True it was in the 1990's and we only had 300Zx's back then, and the Corvette's were still lame, but they couldn't catch me.. Now days the cars are way faster and high tech. I would have the choice of two sweet cars to run.

But try it on a weekend ?? Bumper to bumper, and fricken Winnebago's all over...5 to 10 miles an hour the whole way..

But to be real, I am 52, and I would not drive like that on that road again.

But if you live near Marin County, you probably have run your Z car on that road...Or you should, just NEVER on a weekend.

mr.alcheng- oh craps...u remembered... :wtf2: :icon17:

in the z there's not much good visibilty so i didnt opt for the blendmount for my V1. :D
one of the biggest reasons why i dont like suction cups for nav is the same reason. blocks view + rings left on glass. :ugh2:

I usually always mount it outside. Its fun to get creative with camera angles:tup: Plus it usually gives a better sense of speed.

Mr.kenchan, I agree, the Z has good visibility ONLY without mounting anything on the windshield.

I found the RAM Mount will have something very suitable for you. You can mount the camera/device on the mirror-arm and position the camera in front of the mirror.

This is the link ==> RAM Camera Mount

I don't know you are going to camcorder or GoPro, but the part RAM-B-231Z-RVMU and RAM-B-201U-A(Short Arm) is very ideal.

I google camera mirror mount and this RAM brand pop up all the time and its design looks quite promising.

I hope it is useful to you. :tiphat:

indeed! i will be mounting it on the outside of the car too and will use the suction cups for sure.

for cabin shots shooting forward, i want part of me in the shot along with part of the side windows. i think 180degree is wat i would use in this case?

I finished up my yard work, mow, trim, edge, water; then I broke out the Auto Finesse Mercury metal polish and cleaned up me Berk exhaust. I am in love with everything Auto Finesse! Beautiful stuff! After the exhaust was cleaned up I focused my attention on cleaning the engine bay. Now I have a wheel off and I'm cleaning the wheel wells... I'm not going to want to drive it once I'm done. :icon14:

During all this time, I have found Berk Exhaust and Auto Finesse products are to me what PSS's and Konis's are to Mr.onzedge. :bowrofl:

I think in full 1080 the angle is slightly less than 180 but I forget. I know when i mount mine inside you can see me and even my feet working the pedals

alchmey- how are you mounting the mic though? did you get the mic with the mounts? i just want to record cabin sound more than anything.

i noted this condenser mic uses a button battery. how long do these last? i might just get a stereo dynamic mic if i can find such thing...
