Installed my first mod on the Z today. Promised the wife it would also be the last....

Installed some Polk 6.5s too. Thinking a small sub may still be in order.

Edit: Holy crap look at that gap! Must fix it asap!

ok, so i think i made up my mind about the nuvi 50LM. it's a no go! lol wat to do with the $130 i just saved... :icon17:

reason is i just noticed my googlemap on my droid can do the angled look just like my nuvi where i get more view into the horizon. and im going to be getting a new droid next month anyway. all i need to figure out is how to keep the screen from turning off once plugged in... this means i get traffic and updates all for free. :p i need to figure out if there is a weather app that can do this viewing angle...

kenchan 05-09-2012 07:39 PM

I did a system cache restore on my droidx just now.... but still slow to type on this forum..

I feel ya. My commute is 25 minutes if I decide to stay at the speed limit.

Everyone must be out doing something fun, it's quiet in here.

Nothing fun here. Just got my little guy to bed, then sent out my references. Guess I did a good job at the interview. too bad the hours suck... Would be a nightmare as far as child care goes. :shakes head:

Gratz on the good interview Mr. GaleForce!

My wife and I waited 14 years to have a child. We wanted to be in a good place financially... I wouldn't trade the opportunity to grow with Mini GaleForce for anything! It's a blast.

Mr.GaleForce, fuel up the tank when you can, it's considered cheap for the gas price. LOL :icon17:

Mr.kenchan, are you talking about those OBD-II scanner that can display gauges on the display of your HU or phone?? I was looking for those and can only found the bluetooth type and most reviews are saying they are freaking-slow thus useless...

Regarding the GPS program, are you deciding to use your droid as your GPS unit? If so, I will strongly suggest you the Sygic.

I am using it on my S-II now and I can only say good thing about it. The maps are update, 3-D buildings view where available, quick satellite lock-up.
The only draw back, is the location is bit off.

However, coming from Tomtom, and having tried Co-Pilot, I-Go and Navigon, I say Sygic is the best GPS program for android, maps are preloaded with your choices of cities/states, so you can save some spaces on your memory card.

If you want to see all the GPS software for Android, click this.

Those version does not have traffic because they are :p cracked but safe :p but you can purchase the retail version later on yourself.

Hope my CAD$0.02 helps! :tiphat:

My Z is not going to be ready for another 2-3 days, apparently the service manager and another head of the service department found out the canvas was the old one and the work that has to be done from day 1 wasn't done at all!!  I show a bit of annoyance to them but not too extreme since I still have to leave them a good mood to look after my Z... anyway, hope they'll do a good job this time. :ugh2:

How are everyone tonight?? :tiphat: :tiphat:

Mr.kenchan, I remember I ran into some sort of screen-shots about displaying those gauges on a Pioneer HU or something, but yes, it's freaking slow and even the user says it's useless :ugh2:

Regarding the GPS, googlemaps is very accurate and have free updates and traffic, I just don't use it because it eats up my data.. :ugh2:

They didn't replace the canvas which I was told they replaced it :shakes head:

Today they told me they replaced the 'seam' which is the lining that goes along the edge, which we(three or us) found out they were not replaced. So I show them my confusion by asking them "So what did they do last time when I leave the car here for a week???"

Of cause they won't be able to answer my Q and I wouldn't push them to say something useless, I just told them "Well, make sure this time you guys complete what have to be completed and let me pick up the car."

Of cause I am pissed off, but I won't say anything to upset them before they finished the job.... you know... don't yell at the waiter/waitress before they serve your meal... LOL :bowrofl:

Mr.kenchan, the android phone shouldn't turn off when in car mode or if there's a running program ie GPS, so don't worry about it...
