It becomes bigger than us as people; more important than process improvement or value-adding. Forget about following SOP's forget about the fact that there is such a thing as capacity and it is usually finite. Let's SELL SELL SELL SELL!!!!

Yippee. Let's all hold hands, exchange nice flowery talk about value propositions, competitive advantages, customer-facing collateral and go-forward marketing strategies in our business ecosystems. It makes me want to stick a fork in my eye sometimes.

I seriously did not want to grow up and be doing this. Screw the paycheck, profit-sharing and 401(k). I have become that which I rallied against when I was young and idealistic. I am a sell out just like The Who – licensing their songs for TV.

That’s all for now. Sorry for the rant. I got my therapist’s voicemail just now.

Blurgh! Sounds like youre not quite pleased with what you do buddy. It's time for a change. What exactly is it that you do? I know you've told me, and I vaguely recall that it has to do with the technical world...but refresh my memory. :)

And oh! I'm power reading to catch up folks, so please forgive the delayed reactions!

arr.... thank you happy, I must have mixed up throttle-open and air-intake amount.....

Sorry dude, but I just kept seeing posts about how much the throttle was open at various speeds and had to say something. :p

gurneyeagle 05-15-2012 06:48 AM

Good morning family! :hello:

Apologies for missing in action the last few weeks - the forum's "system" issues really limit my ability to post in the morning.

Had a great time at Houston's Autos and Aeros this past weekend. Big turnout of Z's including two special guests from Dallas. I'll post some pictures later this week.

I actually won "Best in Class", the reason being that there were torrential downpours and flooding the morning of the event, so probably 1/3 of the participants didn't show up. All-in-all, four of the seven Z's in attendance went home with a plaque. Hey, I'll take 'em any way I can get 'em!

After Thursday, I'm off to Indy for the weekend's time trials and the race the following weekend. It's Christmas time in May for me. :happydance:

Tonight's the Z Club of Houston monthly meeting. Great group of guys and the Club is really starting to get some momentum. Lot's to look forward to in the coming months.

Hope you are feeling better ms. pint! :hello:

Have a great day all! :tiphat:

:hello: Good Morning Y'all!

I told the wife I'm buying the R2C intake regardless of what she says. She gave me a bit of THE LOOK... and the she just shrugged!!  I will be making payment later today. :yum: (well, the intake is really the :yum: part, making payment is the :icon23: part).

Oh yeah, my Konis, Swifts and PSS make me happy too.

That sounds like the balance I'm talking about

I've been all over TX in the Z including a trip up to Sherman (~600 mi round trip) in one day. My back does not enjoy it, but I have say I have been in plenty of other cars/rentals that should be much more comfortable and they are no better than the Z. :tiphat: Enjoy :driving:

I share the same sentiment. I will only work if the money is right. I can tell you this, I used to do what I love, the money did follow however I was at the top of what could be made in that profession. After a while I decided to change careers and went for the money. The work sucked but the $$$ was awesome. I could "tune out" at work and knowing the money being made was providing a very good life for my family and paying for my hobbies made it tolerable.

Thanks, but I think the lack of participants really was the reason I got a plaque. The judges probably put all our names in a hat and drew for the winners. All Z's in attendance were all 10's!

LOL ONze. m4 hope you guys are having a good time.
So now I'm upset. Are banks and mortgage companies required to be stupid? I get a letter saying that my required escro balance is too low. Notice I said balance. I recieved an escro adjustment letter a while ago and that amount wasn't taken out because I get evry 2 week payments taken out. The company that takes out my payments says I need to fax them a letter auth. an increase and that escro letter. WTH where is that letter?? How would I know. When I bought my house the company never had a problem. This company is nuts. The really crazy thing is that evry year I get a a check from escro for over $750 to decrease the balance WTH. Keep the balance and don't bother me. So today I have to send a letter to the bi-weekly payment company and - wait for it wait for it $14 payment to the mortgage company. :shakes head:

My favorite companies are those who seem to go out of their way to complicate doing business with them. Seriously, I do not care what a company does, what is sells or who their customers are. Every organization's primary objective should be building processes and procedures that bring them customers and make transacting business as simple, easy and transparent as possible.

Just wait until the revolution comes, brothers and sisters!

Disclaimer: I am in no way advocating any sort of revolution in the real sense --it is metaphorical.

kenchan 05-15-2012 10:40 AM

Edit - they didn't care about names... Employee number only.

Fire 05-15-2012 10:50 AM

THE thing that gets me the most is that I do evry 2 week payments on my can and mortgage so they actually recieve 13 monthly payments a year. I cannot be behind on payments or balances. :gtfo2:

I see you made it thru the night Gale. All my raccoons came back last night. The are sleeping off their hangovers.
