I don't really know much about import shops around town, or any Z-specific ones either, so I can't help too much. But I can say I went in for Dyno runs at both Carboy and EngineLogics, and they both seem to work on imports, and they both seemed like quality shops. You might give them a call and talk to them about the kinds of work you want done and see what they say. Both are on the SW side of town, roughly in the vicinity of the intersection of Beltway 8 and 59S.

IPP is known for their engine builds with 350Zs. They're in Spring, so it's a drive, but they definitely know their way around a Z car.

How about Z shops in the DFW area?

Mute your speakers if you're at work. There's some pretty awful techno that starts automatically.

There's also SGP, but they had some pretty serious issues over on my350z with a member from near me.

Yep--Carboy in Houston does great work. They did a bunch of stuff for me when I had my RSX a while back.

I had a bad run in with Engine Logics. My friend had an overheating problem with an early 90's Eclipse. I told him to take it to Engine Logics as Brad had done awesome work on my 240sx; so, they changed out the water pump. OH YEAH! DID YOU KNOW WATER GOES IN A WATER PUMP?! So, after the drive home there was nothing left of that motor and the water pump wasn't even the problem... it was a cracked radiator.

Just my minor input. I am not biased against Engine Logics, like i said they had done some awesome work for me previously.

So they left the coolant system dry after the water pump swap? Ouch.

Although, even at the best shops mistakes happen sometimes. I'm curious what the resolution for that was (if that's public). Did they put a new motor in for him?

In a short version, they did not feel it was their fault as the car was towed to their shop without any coolant in the motor. Therefore, they were to return it in the same manner (Yeah i know... stupid). But it was truely the fact that they didn't even fix the correct part that got me. I told him to take them to court, but he didnt want to (who knows?) and it wasn't my place to force an opinion on him.

He ended up selling the car to a mechanic at Lucky's auto in SW Houston for a decent price and buying a '87 Supra.

I guess things worked out, i mean Supra > Eclipse

UPREV located in Austin, Texas will tune to your car specific. Nissan specialists. $700 which includes the 2 pulls needed to tune specific to your vehicle specific.

2 weeks away from taking orders ( June 28 ) roughly....call them up. Worth the drive North.

Excellent info, I've been waiting on UpRev's ECU stuff to be available for months now. That's the first definitive date info I've seen (everything else has been "Soon - keep checking the website" for a long time).

I'm definitely planning to drive to Austin and have them (or one of their in-town affiliated shops, either way) tune up my ECU w/ Osiris ASAP, just waiting on availability really (well that and finishing up my final exhaust configuration).

I emailed UpRev awhile back and basically got the same info in terms of pricing. Now I just need more mods to make it worthwhile!

If you just want to dyno and not tune, and you know somebody that is going to school at UTI..........ask them to see when their dyno day is(usually once a week or month), and tell them to ask their teacher to fit you in..........especially if you have a stand alone ECU.

My friends teacher let me bring in my Supercharged RSX about 3 times to dyno tune, he would help me with my a/f tuning and ignitino timing by seeing what my car was doing on the dyno, what it liked what it didn't like when I advanced timing, leaned it out ect ect..........then he would show the class the info ect ect.........

K-pro is so easy to tune, especially since the K-series motors come with a good working OEM wideband and knock sensor to tune from. I hope the 370Z tuning options will only be as advanced and user friendly as my past car once I pick one up.

only tuner I've had tune my car here in houston is Jason aka "st00pid", don't know what shop he's with now but he's a damn good tuner.

I actually bought a 240 from Brad @ engine logics and just recently sold it to Dave who owns Secret Services.
