I think they had some detectors along with jammers in the cars, just using there findings to illustrate the point. With the advent of k band radar and hand held laser units, you simply are not going to beat them. You may not get nailed because the cop was clocking someone else or your speed wasn't enough for him to go after you. But most of the time if the cop has you targeted and you are clocked in his set speed range, then he will probably ticket you.

One again if anyone has a sight that posted real world independent lab testing, please do.

....and both these things still hold true.

#1. All threads on topics like this wind up going down in flames over radar detectors and or speeding. They are a waste of time.

#2. gsxr750, you and people like you who say good detectors don't work have ZERO clue what you are talking about. None. Notta. Zippo. Ziltch.

This thread jumped the shark about 5 pages back.

I'm not a cop and I personally only found 2 in my life that did any service, one was actually a beat cop on the street in Buffalo New York that really did his job and another one that caught a pick pocket for me, that cop died in a shooting later. From what I found most cops are really just collecting a high pay check for doing nothing but harassing innocent ppl for basic BS minor petty crimes, that should not be crimes at all and not really protecting the public as the are paid to do.

I also had enough run ins with cops witnessing , false charges, outright lies,beatings,cops bragging about how they beat up ppl and fabricate charges etc.

Other issue when ppl shell out $400-$500 for a useless radar dector, no one wants to admit it.
