IMO a sports can can only be a two seater... I mean how many Indy cars or Ferrari's have back seats?

There is something about the small intimate size of the Z that appeals to me...like being close to a sensual woman..smelling her perfume..feeling her softness and hearing her purr..then roar in a burst of excitement..

True the Z , unlike the G . no G spot.. but its lighter.. and has the same engine so the performance is better..and all things being even, a lighter car can turn and corner better than a heavier one.

Its an exciting drivers car...not for someone that has to strap kids in the back seat or dogs to the roof..

See, this kind of thinking to me, I don't understand. A lot of guys say 4 seaters aren't real sports cars. So then, a GT driver driving a mustang or camaro SS can say, well then your so called 2 seater sports car isn't good enough because I just beat you around the track. Sports car IS NOT how many seats you have. Its HOW WELL a car can perform under a given set criteria. Once a car achieves or exceeds that skill seat criteria. Its nominated as a sports car.
This is why I refain from calling the Z a "True" sports car and I just choose to call it a Dedicated" sports car. My definition of a Dedicated Sports Car is a car with 2 seats and no room for practicality. Does that make it better than a car with 4 seats?? Well if the Z can't beat it then its not better. Plain and simple.
As far as cozy in the cockpit... well that's subjective. Iagree with you there but one mans cozy is another mans cramped.

CHANGE SUBJECT. Gripe & Rant.

I have a serious gripe with the Z though. Last night I'm driving on the 161 doing about 78 and I have the radio real low. I decided to lower it to 0 and here my exhaust. Guess what I heard??? Tire and road noise, a slight audibility of wind. NO EXHAUST sound. This fkin car doesn't even sound like a sports car at cruising speed. WTFF!!!!!! I already know this but I'm thinking in my head. You know how many 350z's pass me sounding Mad Brolic on the road on stock exhausts. And it kills me that the Z exhaust is basically... fkin wack!!! Its a terrible misrepresentation of a sports car exhaust. My old G37 had a REAL sports car sound. That sound adds to the driving experience. It really sucks the dedicated sports car can't hold a candle to the pseudo-luxury sports car. Sound is 35% of the sports car experience. And unless you smash on the gas for a complete 3mpg's the Z just doesn't sound good in terms of volume, stock. This is something nissan better fix in 2013. Make it sound like the old 350z again.

PS there are Ferari's and porsches with back seats.

Well, to me, maneuverability and feeling of lightness is a part of it all ..and how can a large car be as maneuverable as a small one, everything else being equal? There is also something I just cant express but the small intimate feeling of a two seater appeals to me..something about back seats that reminds me of a sedan..
PS I did not know Ferrrai made cars with back seats..Guess I will have to get one for the wife and kids..

You never heard of the Ferrari 330gt, 365GT, ferrari Mondial, 612 scagglieti just to name a few??? Next year should produce another GT. So yeah.. go pick one up for the family. Just learn ferrari heritage through reading before you go to the dealership talking stuff you don't know and make a fool of yourself?...

Aaaaaaaannnnnywayyyy...

Just because a car is inherintely small doesn't make it instantly more maneuverable than a larger sports car if that larger car was designed to perform the duty with intricate detail to the cars overall design.... Or having back seats for that matter. My opinion as as yours that you had to mention twice already about 2 seats feeling cozy. BUT THOUGH I AGREE... it is purely SUBJECTIVE and doesn't make any case on a sports car capability.

Totally agree with the above for the Z on stock exhaust. As mentioned in another post, there are 4 G37's in my condo building and it seriously bothered me that they all sounded more agreesive than my Z, they had that distinctive VQ purrrrr.....but the Z sounded limp

Thats why an upgraded exhaust was my first move when I didn't really plan on it.

I had a car with a back seat once - I didn't like it.

That said, I'd get the G37x coupe if I needed a back seat today - unless someone makes a mid-engine four seater

I'd say that our Z feels like 10% more performance all around vs our g37s. It corners more tightly with less body roll and acceleration feels a bit stronger due to being 3-400 lbs lighter. I haven't taken the z to its limits on cornering much, but it already can take corners a little faster than the G.

Luxury wise, i have the touring package and I prefer the Z's seats. The only things I miss from the G are the navigation (which is very well integrated into the car IMO), the backseats once in a while, and the slightly smaller steering wheel. The Z's wheel feels like its an inch or two larger in diameter. Leather quality is definitely better on the G37, but I prefer the suede inserts on the Z.

In my mind, the real advantage a G37 has is having 4 seats. Whether that convenience is worth the slight dulling in driving experience is more of a personal preference.

The IPL, will add 5% to the 90% performance of the Z. It makes corners just as good as our base Z's and the extra 18hp shows its face in 3rd n 4th. Going full bolt ons and a JIC coilovers are the best for the G. With the jic the G outhandles a sport pkg Z.

Yea but you are saying you have to add bolt ons to outperform a sport pkg Z. That is not a 1:1 for Z vs G. You are already paying more for the G and more for the IPL and still have to bolt on some goodies to outperform a sport Z? Well let's bolt on some aftermarket goodies to get that 18hp deficit back even on the Z...intake+exhaust. Or for cornering upgrade the suspension on the Z. Nothing against G's I like them. I just like the Z more. If I needed back seats then I would definately get a G.
