So my dad spun out my Z today!

What I would be actually worried is how and why the car spun out at only 20-25mph (you said you didn't hear any engine roar); you might want to check your tires. I sometimes take ramps at 40/50mph and never spun out or felt like I was going to lose it.

I've taken ramps at 70. it wasn't the speed that did it, probably the downshift

Yeah, a sudden downshift mixed with loose dirt/pebbles can defintely kick that rear out in no time.

Coulda been the uneven pavement, lifted one wheel a bit, open diff spun the tire, tire came down, bit hard and spun the car...

yup. VDC. It's there for a reason! lol

but I would definitely be looking in to an aftermarket lsd for your ride! I hate open diffs!

seriously, the open diff should have been LESS likely to cause a spin in this situation since it would not have sent power to the outside rear wheel

Conor, I would feel more than upset if a relative hit my car. Thank goodness you were moving at a good speed for the ramp. He must feel really bad for the incident and surely will make it up to you

It actually doesn't look so bad, looks like you got lucky. I'm glad you can laugh about it now, because it's definitely going to be one of those things you can always bust the old mans chops about

I think the combo dirt/dust while down shifting with vdc off on an on-ramp is more then enough to put you into a spin! Hope you can get it all fixed up ASAP

prolly, i turn it off cause the car can get really pissed accelerating over uneven/bumpy surfaces, its kinda annoying. its not like im drifting intersections LOL
