I paid 37k out the door for my 11 base sport auto, 7 miles on it shipped. On a flatbed from houston, with ill. Kick plates, backup cam mats, coasters, weather mat for my mats, oil changes for 3 years, tire guard and free washes with oil change. 37.1k was the msrp for the car with all options minus the the warranties. You can definitely get more for your buck from Nissan over Toyota and Honda, but you will also pay for it in resale.
Steering lock, probably a valid point. Fuel starvation, not so much, at least in comparison to toyota or honda. They don't have anything that will pull enough G's to induce fuel starvation.

Not to mention, the S2k dealt with fuel starvation as well. Not nearly as bad as the 370z, but was still there.

I've owned several nissian's an exterra, rouge still have it, and of course the 370. imo nissan is a top 5 or 6 car companies in the US.

but the 370 is the best bang for your buck of any car on the road in it's class
a 2 seater sports car.

oh i don't work for nissan.

The styling of nissans sport oriented offerings and there power trains reliability is what calls me in. Save for the qr25 in the last gen Altima and the 06 350z vq35de which had the higher redline but didn't have the redesigned block the 07s had nissans power train IMO is one of the most reliable mass manufacturer offerings around.

I am just saying Nissan isn't as reliable as some of their Japanese competitors. As others have noted, their customer service is horrible. Of course Toyota and Honda are on par with them too as far as how bad they are. It's the same reason why I don't stay loyal to any brand. They treat you like number and dollars sign, I don't see why we should suck on their kool-aid. With all that said, I have purchased over 7 NMAC products and most of them are very good cars. I just don't think they are as great as the Honda and Toyota in terms of reliability. Fun factor and $$$ value, definitely since they are almost always cheaper.

My C6 can pull more G's, have way more problems, yet it can go down to at least 1/4 tank before fuel starvation. The same goes for my RX-8, Lotus, 350, MR2. I mean 1/2 tank fine, but 3/4 of a tank and you go fuel starve? The engineers should be shot for designing a fault gas tank.

Btw. My car at 13K miles, the metal baffle plate broke inside the gas tank. Transmission bearings and clutch whine like a mofo since new. My brake light switch went out of adjustment. Transmission always grind when cold until I change to new fluid. Is that a sign of a great car? I mean the car had never left me stranded, but it is nowhere close from being perfect or even great.

Also I don't know if you guys have ever gotten this one from the dealership. "It's a sports car, get used to the problems and rattles." I got this from three different dealership when I brought the car in for service.

The real depreciation was 5k over 3yrs with 33k miles on it. I lost in cash only 3k. They say you lose that the second you roll out the lot. I guess I only had one day of depreciation???? Lol.
I was just being general in my statement, take a look at the blackbook and see what is near the top of the list in terms of resale. You will see more Toyota/Honda than Nissan. Your experience might vary. Car market is weird in someways. I bought my mother a 2010 Nissan Cube 1.8L S new for $16100 (invoice) in June 2010. I helped my aunt get the same exact car 2010 1.8L S in December 2010 for $13400 before the earthquake in Japan. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck.

Btw the dealer could have easily inflated the price you paid for your new car instead of taking it from the used car, you honestly don't know. Some people might think paying sticker is stupid, but market and time kind of dictates a lot of it.

Honda/Acura is becoming boring too, just like Toyota. They canned the NSX, Type R, and S2000. Plus Honda is well known for teens or older people cars.
Even that I believe they are more relaible than a Nissan.
