Those cars easily have enough torque to get you into trouble with all traction control turned off. If you look at his front end, the suspension unloads ABRUPTLY rather than gracefully, so I assume he floored it in a low gear with no traction control turned on, and simply broke it loose. The course itself is straight at that point (correct me if I'm wrong, KB), and I saw no steering, nor brake input. The *** end just came around from what appears to be him simply flooring it.

It actually went into a short slalom (sp?) and then a straightaway to the finish.

how damaged was the car? I'm guessing there was some suspension and possibly frame damage from the force of the impact?

Watching it again, he hit so hard that the rear corner light FLEW out lol. 2 ****** wheels, rear suspension (and likely, differential too...) is JACKED, front suspension/steering jacked....

....an alignment ought to fix it all :|

Thanks for the input so far. The Solo events near me are typically at the local airport, so the issue of curbs, etc. are not an issue.

Also just wondering since I don't have an oil cooler yet should I be concerned? I know the runs are typically rather short but just wanted to know for sure.

The autocross event I go to is in a huge airfield in Massachusetts. ( devens airfield - Google Maps )

There really is no place to crash because they put cones so far away from buildings, etc and there is just grass around. I feel safe.

EDIT: Just realized you can see the skid marks on this satellite image

I like autocross and will be doing it again this year. I went to an event where a guy wrecked a 3000gt the week after he lunched a ZO6 with an instructor with him. 2 weeks 2 cars 1 person, nobody else so much as scratched thier paint. Could it have been the driver? LOL what a tool.
