Yeah a short trip isn't enough time for it to readjust. Usually it takes 10-15 minutes or so for mine get the right temp

but yah, there's really no reason why one would need to speed 30mph+.

It happens all the time near chicago where people are coming in via interstates (65 mph) and I94/I90 through the city are 45&55 mph depending on where you are. Many people drive 80 mph on interstates.

The penalty will double if you speed in the construction zone.

Otherwise, 40km/h+ you could be charged careless driving, 50km/h+ you could get your car impounded on site. And they have undercover in any kind of van, suv, compact, in any color....

Hmmm, maybe. I assumed they were still using them because I see airplanes flying along side the 401 where I am (1 hour east of Toronto).

There was recently a story on Jalopnik about states that advertise using airplanes to monitor speeding, but found that almost all states just about NEVER did it, because it was so expensive to get the plane up that the tickets didnt offset the costs.
