yah, when i first got the car it took me a good 8-9hrs. that's with 5miles on the odo, brand new car.

then once a year i usually do a full detail which takes about 16-20hrs. i use to be able to do it in 2 days but lately i must be getting old or something cause i need to break it up into 4-5 days, sometimes longer. :icon17:

I carted around quite a bit in it today. Quick wash this morning, went to our MD meet, got some beers to take home, took my mom on some errands. Overall, a great day to be out Z-ing.

But on our last stop, a lady in front of me in a parking lot came to a complete stop. I pulled behind her patiently. She put her car in reverse and started backing up quickly, oblivious to the fact that I was behind her. I honked the horn and threw it in reverse. Thankfully, the ditz realized I was there in time to brake, but it was a very close call.

cool. one thing to note on the Griot's clay is you need to make sure you have plenty of lube on the paint before you glide. otherwise the clay is so soft it will leave smear marks on the paint. it's not a big deal cause you can remove the smear with the clay but just a hassle. :icon17:

the cheezo meguiar's QD with its standard misty sprayhead does very well with the Griot's clay. even better than using Griot's own QD (speedshine).

The owner of the marina where we were is a friend of mine. He laughed when it was over and said, "You nearly had a toyota logo on your front bumper."

Hey Ken, I went down Friday and showed the tech exactally what was wrong. He kinda tried to tell me "thats just the way it is" and "new trans' feel notchy" I was like I dont mind notchy but this is just straight up wrong. Then we went out front and sat in a new 370. After both rowing thru the gears he agreed something was in fact wrong with mine. So I suppose they are working on locating and fixing the prob.

Boston Lager tonight. Got a few left in the fridge.

Yah I think I recall hearing you say that it's so soft that it smears.. No biggie though if it's easy to clean up with a mf cloth.
