There were 2 revisions of "C" an "A" and "B" and you have the latter, which is sad to see b/c I have the same one in my car now.:shakes head:

Mr.onzedge sorry to hear about the steering lock freeze/failure. First heard about it on FB ZONC page. Car is home which is a good thing while the part is on order. I will take a peek today on both Z's to see what rev we have.

So rev's A & B on 09-10 models are the failing ones?

Serinty, noice mod on the chin spoiler. That little shaving just saved me $200 on the driveway ramps. Did you gain any additional whp from that mod?

Mine was not as bad as Mr. onzedge but had both Z's upper radiator hoses replaced yesterday. Funny how both sprung leaks at the same time. First I thought it was weather related. Odd that the dealer does not stock this hose. Their response was they do not fail like the hoses of yesterday. Received a free wash yesterday courtesy of mother nature.

Oh wow! I totally see it now, and feel supremely stupid!!! Hahhaaha!! Nicely done man, it actually looks far better than before.

I gotta tell ya though: I use that under spoiler as a "gauge" of sorts to determine when I'm getting close!

Well it is still the lowest part and works to be used as "gauge" but only when the gauge starts warning me now I know I am pretty close.

Just installed my Mike The Powder Coater "NISMO" vinyl letters to my rims. Super-easy to install - just needs a little patience, a steady hand, and an exacto knife.

Highly recommended!

OK -- so I went back to the dealership today to pick up my Z and bring it home to reast while awaiting the part. Like promised, they jerry-rigged a module from an Altima so the car is drivable but the key light is on. I am still not going to drive it until I take it back for the repair.

I cannot speak highly enough about the level of service that Maita Nissan of Sacramento has provided during this issue. They let me take the Z home so that it did not have to sit there for three weeks and they are letting me keep the loaner car while we wait. BTW: it is a sweet 2012 Versa. I promised I would not take ot to the track.

In the attachments below, you will find the low-res Droid shots of the failed module that I was able to take this morning. If anyone knows how to identify the rev level, please let me know.

Thanks again for all the support -- this kind of stuff usually puts me in Spazz Mode but I am amazingly calm about it.

mr.onzedge- thanks for taking that pict! that confirms RevC might be bad as well. not sure if this was an isolated incident or not. ive not read about GTR's going back for repeated steering lock failure... hummm..

i have that revision in my car right now. i guess im glad i used regular metric screws cause i can swap it back in the field if it goes bad. lol :D

how many miles on your car? :)

wow, that's a lot of miles, mr.onzedge!

you have definitely beat the RevA/RevB working life of typical 20K max. :D hahaha. hope you get your RevD soon.

thing about this lock is these are made in germany (probably by TRW) and there's nothing less convincing than letting the germans make electronic parts. :ugh2: some will work great, some will fail. no consistency.
