I'm really giving the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s a real close look. I did find this interesting for the Michelins tho:

Treadlife Warranty: 6 Years / 30,000 Miles
Half mileage for rear if different size than front

Hmmm, so they only warranty for 15k on staggered setups?

not sure about warranty cause i'll use it up before 15k anyway :icon17: i would do the supersports. heck, that's my next set of tires for sure.

I did seriously consider the exhaust but after my Z ride on the past Wed, with the top down, I am a bit hesitate about hearing a louder exhaust note everyday, also conversation inside the cabin even with the top up... And the CAI is starting to giving a nice engine note...

So.. after all the thinking, I will go with spoiler...(maybe for now.. LOL) :icon17:

sounds good, mr.alcheng!

Great pics by the by! :)

Okay, Mrs. Gurney is now intrigued! The Juke may just give a CR-V a run for it's money. I test drove one today and loved it.

My Z? Oh where to start.

In my ongoing war with trying to get my TMPS swapped-out for my Nismo rims which includes hitting a major pot hole and destroying a new tire, things just ramped-up.

Upon arriving (in a sudden down pour) at the dealership yesterday to get my TMPS swapped, I attempted to park in a section that was raised with a slanted curb (like a regular driveway) and managed to snag the bottom of the bumper and bent the black plastic diffuser. Replacement part will cost $375 from Nissanparts.com.

Oh, then this morning while surveying the damage, I noticed I had three different areas of "spider webbing" in the bumper paint from where it obviously was stressed severly from the impact with the curb. So, the clear bra will need to be removed, the bumper repainted, and the clear bra reapplied.

I've decided I'm going to swap out the Tanabe springs with the originals. I just can't deal with the hassle of a lowered car anymore; too many inclined driveways and speed bumps.

I've already got a taker for the Tanabes. Loved the look and ride, just can't afford the ongoing damage.

Lesson learned. No one to blame but myself.

kenchan 03-10-2012 08:23 PM

Gurney- sorry to hear about the damage. :(

The Z looks great at stock height imho. :p I have no plans to lower mine. For street driving I've learned long time ago that I want as much stroke allowed to keep the car from slowing down. If the car came with rediculous wheel gap like the G I would be required to lower the ride, but not the Z.

Drove my Z today and she just reconfirmed to me she is fine as-is for street. :p

happytheman 03-10-2012 09:22 PM

Gurney, that completely blow chunks. :barf:

How much of a drop did the Tanabes give you? At least you arre staying true to the Z! I applaud you! :)

I've gotten my stockers to last 25.5k now.

i drove it for ten miles to charge up the battery and back in the garage it went :)

alcheng 03-10-2012 10:19 PM

Mr.gurneyeagle, sorry to hear about all those incidents happened to your Z... I think it is a good idea to swap back to the OEM spring thus more peace of mind on your upcoming driving! :icon17:

Drove my Z to work today, and parked it outdoor for the whole afternoon and when I finished work I went up to her and saw the horrible thing again.....

Those cutie seagulls always flying with their heavy diarrhoea symptom left a decent amount of "souvenirs" on my Z... :shakes head:

Anyway, driving home so pi$$ed and went to coin wash and spray everything off the panels and removed those spots after got home.

Showed it to my Dad. Luke warm reception, but he liked the lines and loved the NAV. He lusted after my z06, though. So far I'm still loving the car. Can't wait for my invisicord to arrive to I can wire my v1 in.

I had a busy day!

-I got two new front tires (old set had mad insider camber wear and were already pretty old)

-Installed a new battery

-Reprogrammed a new alarm remote

and.... tomorrow I will be trying out my new vacuum as long as weather permits

I wonder if these guys are legit? They've got mixed reviews, mostly based on customer service...but they're like $100 cheaper per tire! :)

I've never heard of them.

SoCal is littered with these type of tire resellers though

Hope you find the solution to the Z issues noted above.

Morning everyone!

I'm off to my first drive in 45.......

Thank you Mr. kenchan, the bro took a turn for the downside Friday night, took him to ER this morning just got home, he is in for the weekend. Fever at 101.8, chills and turned out this morning an incision was infected hence the fever. Caught it in time, no fluids in the lung, antibiotics and dressing to be changed. Thanks for the well wishes.

The Z is also spending the weekend away form home (at the dealership) It threw the same code P171, P172 (i think) so they will look into the engine firewall ground to see if it's rusted as in the case of the bros a few months ago. Oh and the battery needs replaced, 3 yrs to the month, better than the Z33's oem battery.

Enjoy the drive in 45, should be great performance. i love 35-45 degree weather, the car has so munch oomph at that temp. :tiphat:

Mr.Zforce- wow. That sounds scary. ::eek:: Glad to hear things have settled back again. Hope your bro and family can rest today. :)

The drive was great yesterday. going for round2 this am. :p
