I hate to say it (and hope my girl doesn't read it) but the 350 looks dated now, and the 370 interior takes the 350's interior and rapes it over

The interiors on these cars are worlds apart. I know this is a sports car and mine isn't even a daily driver but I really don't want to buy something that feels poorly put together when I sit inside it. |

If you get a 350, I would look for a sweet deal on a 2008, zero issues I know of, and dealers that have them left over are discounting heavy. My dealer was selling a new 2008 Nismo over $10,000 below sticker. John |

The only reason IMO to pick a 350 over a 370 is the styling. I would not pick up a DE in any regard, definitely go for an HR. HR responds well to bolt on as well, has a slightly updated interior, and has worked out many of the issues.
That being said, put the two together, I think it's very easy to see how outdated the 350z looks. It's a bit of a shocker to even say that, considering how amazingly different the 350 looked when it came out. You can get into the modding war, but there is very little doubt, the 370 is a better car in every regard. On other forums HR owners will fight until the bitter end stating the 370 is not faster, and basically pick it apart.. In my test drive I noticed a giant leap forward in refinement, while maintaining the essential bare sports car feel I loved about the original 350. I am always a fan of advancement, even when the REV UP engine came out, I was jealous of it, when it was nearly the same. Too me, there is always very little doubt the newer model wins.. The 350 was a great car, made from a company (Nissan) in not so great financial condition it was an impressive achievement. The 370 works out much of what was lacking in the 350 while still retaining the Z car feel. |

The VHR hasn't proven to be really any faster YET at the drag strip over a HR powered 350z. I ran the drags last Wednesday (1 week ago) and a 370z was doing 13.9-14.4 while I was doing 13.8-14.1 with 104 mph traps. He also did 101-104 traps. But I had no traction in 1st gear while he did when I saw him launch.
Like many have said, the HR has done 13.1 stock at the strip. It will happen but they are so equally matched that it really comes down to the driver. The 370z right now is not faster than the HR and vice versa. Quote:

Im sure i can score a point at half court by tossing basket ball all the way across if i take 1,000 trys, but the lakers are still not going to hire me. What is the average quater mile for a 350z that almost any one can obtain? What is the average quater mile for a 370z that almost any one can obtain? think about your logic for a bit. |

I would consider a Nismo edition 350. Might you know the color of the Nismo your dealer is selling?
oh and is there any performance advantage the 350 Nismo has over a non-Nismo350z ? Thanks Rich ny Quote:

Not really sure at this point ..which one. No real time frame other than maybe sometime this summer.
I was aware of the tire feathering of the earlier 350z's..I have followed the Z since before the 350z was released(have all the mags that covered the car, as well as brochures etc.). If I had to pick a 350z it would definitely be an '07 or '08..I just love the hood bulge, much more like the orig Z..as well as the 280's I used to own. Not sure if I like the 350z Nismo. Might be too much bodywork for my taste..but would not rule anything out..lol. Is the 350Nismo that much diff...besides the obvious body treatments..real numbers different? I do love the 370z's look (except for the hood and roof treatment)..they serve no real purpose in my mind. Im sure Nissan will flatten the roof and bulge the hood in years to come(please, please..)..Regarding the maybe 370purchase..waiting to see what happens with the oil-cooling issue. I dont plan on any track days, but hey u never know. I do frequent Lime Rock, seems like a good car for that track. So there it is in a nut shell.. Some sweet deals on 350z's ...Not enough 370s at the dealers yet would like base+sport package, silver, 6spd. Dealers all seem to have auto-touring models.. Thanks guys for posting replies :-) Rich ny |

You should be able to get a NISMO new for around 28k for left overs. I had to pay 38k for mine, when it first came out! lol.
