I don't understand the attachment to phones these days. Like you can't breath if you don't have your phone in hand. It's getting seriously ridiculous  FWIW, I usually plug in my phone for music when I first get in the car. It sits right next to the parking brake. My charger from the center console pocket holds the phone in place.
