key battery

Yes, I searched, so forgive me if i'm a dummy.... is it simply a matter of prying open the fob and buying a new battery at a local retail place and pop it in?

Mine has lasted for 3 years and seven months and 100k miles. The battery is pretty low right now.

So how do you get back in the car if the fob dies (noob question for future purchase) you could drive the car but what if it dies and car is locked
