You got me there. Because of my age(I think) the only part of computer use that I'm good at is Nissan forums search & Hot teen porn. I am working on others.

OP, I just got a 370Z after owning a stage 2 Evo X. The Z didn't seem very fast at all - at first. I was so used to the "slam you back in your seat" feeling of a boosted car that I forgot how smooth and linear the pick up on the VQ felt (also owned an 06 350Z prior to the Evo). I'll tell you what, a week and a half later, I'm finally hitting that sweet spot and learning how to shift the Z's notchy trans again... today I was thoroughly impressed with the acceleration the stock 370 has. Definitely a LOT faster than my 06 Z ever was (rev-up engine, non HR, cbe exhaust/intake/mrev2/plenum spacer). And the handling, I am not sure I even want to touch the suspension with any aftermarket mods. It feels THAT good.

Can't tell if op is trolling are not.

he was comparing his 350 to a 370.......

iv'e owned both and in mho there is no comparing to the 350 to the 370

anyone whos owned both has to agree. though the 350 was and is a very good car even though sometimes it looked a lot like a chick car.

in no way can you say that about the 370.
using any measuring stick the 370 is heads above the 350
handling, looks damn sexy, more HP and you can tell the difference there.
both trans in the 370 are better, smoother ride and hardly any rattles if any.

sorry didn't to ramble

Me personally, I had the same type of test drive as you. Not because I know people, but because like you I have purchased many nissan/infinitis, in a short time. I took my test car over 100mph, I performed engine brakings and drove with both vdc on and off. To me, you just didn't drive it well. I've owned a G35 and I know where you are coming from as far as initial torque. Take off isn't vigorous until you pass higher rpm ranges. Once the Z34 picks up on torque it bumrushes through the gears and feels as strong as a v8. The vq 35 feels like it runs out of steam earlier. In manual, it takes some time to get used to to figure out how to harness power out of it.
One sure way to get some extra torque is to Shut VDC off. It is more intrusive in these cars than the past ones. Having bought so many cars I would have thought you would have test driven this car better given the opportunity of a solo flight.

Handling kicks the Z33 azz by a mile. Better stability, perfect suspension tuning and better steering feel make this Z a winner in my book. Torque can be increased with new cams and breathing mods. Or you can just go FI. But honestly, the difference in initial torque from the last model is overexaggerated. Shift the Z34 properly though and you won't tell the difference.

Oh boy, you've got the wrong guy to give driving instruction to. The people that know me, I'm sure will be tired of hearing this again. Since you don't; with stock intake & stock exhausts after test pipes, & with only 280+ HP my 08 holds the bolt on 1/4 mile record at 12.504 at 110mph. Broke it like 5 times. I've done a dozen 12.5's 12.6's. In the past I power shifted without the use of a clutch. Road racing/drag racing, I'm really, really good. As far as cams & breathing mods, they are mostly for top end power. When you understand what cam lob lift, or duration, or rocker arm ratio means & how all affect performance. Why you loose low end turq/power but gain top H.P. with more cam duration, different lifters, bla, bla, bla. It's not as simple as a BIG cam & Breathing mods. Sorry, not want to sound snotty but we read all the time big, bigger, bigest..... Doesn't work that way.

I'm going to drive the 370 again. I know it's faster, but just doesn't have that feeling. It's like sex, never mind:icon17: For the former 350z guys, there is a big difference(much more than the advertised 6hp) in power & strenght of the engine build. Much thicker rods, bottom end much stronger. It's a different engine from the 03 to 06. Just look at the 1/4 mile pure STOCK times of a 07/08 & the 370. I believe they are the same, & both higher than older 350's. AGAIN, I'll try for another road test. I got to like it, no?

andre12031948 12-03-2011 09:27 PM

more is not better

If you want some proof of what I said in my other post, just click official 1/4 drag times. Start from last & read back. Go ahead, do it now. "Moded cars that can't beat their stock times".

The OP is entitled to his own opinion. I think the majority of us are long time Z owners as well, so trying to come in here and talk about all the Z's or Nissans you've owned is not going to give you anymore credibility, IMHO it just makes you look like you like a douche. You sound like many 350Z owners from a very popular 350Z forum(I was a former member there too) and you came in here to accomplish what exactly?

It just sounds like the never ending thread HR vs VHR...Sorry man, you kinda of asked for it.

Please learn how to talk first before you ingage me in conversation. I'll let you slide some because you're from California. I need a new car & was hoping it would be another Z. I don't have another agenda. As for douche, never mind, you're not worth it. Let's just say a more timely douche, & we wouldn't be talking:rofl2:
