I can see that, & perhaps try again. I would love to own one & try to get it into the low 12's with just bolt ons. I don't mean to brag, but I'm very good & have lots of car experience. Yes, the rpm did fly by fast (without 4:08 gears:) & I did redline it in the begining. It didn't have that solid engine feel like my 08. I'll try again:)

Yeah I know, this car you don't feel the speed neither the acceleration, is like you know you are going fast because when you look at the rpm and speed but you don't really feel it, I think it is built that way. Two Sundays ago I was on my way to work, it was around 5:00am , and when entering to the highway I redlined my car on 5th , when I looked at the speed 135mph, I said I do not want to get arrested, and nobody believe me when I say that did not feel that fast.Well good luck on whatever car you decide to buy

This disease is called "350z Denial".

NO!!!! I've owned a tri power 66 gto, 64 nova, raced my friend's(Brooklyn speed shop) 11 second 64 nova, had a 64 chevelle SS ALL manuel trans. Many cars after that. Braging a little but want to show vast amount of experience. I power shifted cars without using the clutch. I think I'm quilified to express my experience.

It's not a mistake for you! It might or may not be the best choice for me.

NO!!!! but my 04 & 08 Z's were some of the most perfect/best/fun cars I've owned.

I had the money (all of it in my pocket) yet I may want my flooded Z intead. Tells you something?

so true. It is really a catch 22-- the engine feels flat when you're on it, but the power delivery is super smooth and the torque curve is so flat it is almost impossible to believe it is from a production car...but you loose the "thrown in your seat feel" many are used to with high peak power cars that have a sudden power engagement.

I'd rather have the smooth power delivery of the VQ37 any day, but it is not for everyone.

I had two 350zs, and there is a noticeable increase in power with my 370z. I could tell that almost immediately.
On a side note: I like being able to spell words properly.

Go get a mustang .....it haves gobs of power that you wanted ..bye

My 08 is an HR. It has more power than my 04 did. HR are 07's & 08.

I'm aware of my poor spelling, especialy when I'm in a hurry. My answer to that is, I was born in Eastern Europe, then lived in mid-east. So I speak 3 languages fluently plus Spanish:) I do however have better grammar than many natives. I also think content is much more important. I'll try to be more carefull. By the way, how many languages do you speak fluently?

This has been my experience as well. I sometimes miss the wild abandon of my slk, but the 370z is such a well built and impressive machine it makes me :happydance:

Andre, where do you get your car worked on near monticello?

It's a Nissan, doesn't need any work:) What part of N.Y. are you from?

Niss of Midlletown, Smithtown nissan L.I. Performance the experience L.I.

andre12031948 12-03-2011 07:19 PM

I'll try to take another road test

Also look at the odometer more:) Since I'm so frail, maybe I need a beast to drive:) LS 500HP Z could be that beast:)

I was given the car to drive it myself, no salesman. It's a friend's dealership, so I had free reign to drive it as I wished & for how long.

Me personally, I had the same type of test drive as you. Not because I know people, but because like you I have purchased many nissan/infinitis, in a short time. I took my test car over 100mph, I performed engine brakings and drove with both vdc on and off. To me, you just didn't drive it well. I've owned a G35 and I know where you are coming from as far as initial torque. Take off isn't vigorous until you pass higher rpm ranges. Once the Z34 picks up on torque it bumrushes through the gears and feels as strong as a v8. The vq 35 feels like it runs out of steam earlier. In manual, it takes some time to get used to to figure out how to harness power out of it.
One sure way to get some extra torque is to Shut VDC off. It is more intrusive in these cars than the past ones. Having bought so many cars I would have thought you would have test driven this car better given the opportunity of a solo flight.

Handling kicks the Z33 azz by a mile. Better stability, perfect suspension tuning and better steering feel make this Z a winner in my book. Torque can be increased with new cams and breathing mods. Or you can just go FI. But honestly, the difference in initial torque from the last model is overexaggerated. Shift the Z34 properly though and you won't tell the difference.

You are forgiven then, since English is not your native language. And I only speak English. Lousy American school system. I can write computer programs in multiples languages, though. Does that count?
