That's awesome MC. Do you have the OEM tires on it or are you running something else?

this was me practicing my reaction time using LC.... i got down to a .093
this was a 7.0 run instead of a 6.9 as i let it touch redline during the 2-3 shift

Why is it so hard for some Z owners to be content with what they have?
Z isn't a GT-R and it will never even come close. So let's not degrade GTR with comments like "It has no soul, bahahahaha", "it practically drives itself, tisk tisk tisk", "it gives blow jobs"...

If you have ever been in a GTR, especially at the track, driver or passenger, you'd realize it isn't just the transmission... it's the suspension, the chassis, the overall design, and electronics working in a near perfect harmony delivering the amazing performance as it does.

If it was that easy, just putting a fancy transmission in it to make it as fast or faster than the GTR, other manufacturers like Ferrari/Lambo would have done it ages ago.

I love my Z and would never compare it to GTR. They are just different cars on different levels...

i couldnt agree more. i absolutely love my Z. but its a completely dfiferent sports car class than the GT-R. The Z holds its on within its own class and i suppose a few outsiders. The GT-R is the same way, in its own Class. :tiphat::driving:

The GT-R, hey look its extremely fast but if you want the car to do everything for you and you can be the car's accessory by all means. No soul, even if I had the $ right now I wouldn't get one.

:bowrofl:Textbook fanboyism at its best. You drive your 370z on the street and it doesn't take any more skill to drive a 370z on the street than it does a GTR even with its DCT and AWD. you make it sound like driving a 370z is like racing a v12 formula 1 car with a manual transmission and driving a GTR is like driving your moms subaru legacy. I guess all DCT AWD cars are boring. I wouldn't get a GT-R either, for the record... but you talk about soul? wheres the the soul putting the same engine that nissan uses in every v6 family sedan and crossver into their sports car? :shakes head:

The fact of the matter is the vr38dett was crafted for the GTR. It is a purpose built motor for nissans highest performance street car they have built to date. the VQ is the cookie cutter nissan v6 that they have used in practically every v6 version of every car since the infiniti i30 (VQ30). It's in the altima, maxima, murano, fx, G, M, etc. Hate to burst your bubble but the VQ37HR is inferior in every way to the VR38DETT.

Car enthusiast: Wow this car is awesome, i think it's hand's down a better performing car than yours
Fanboy: But i could totally build mine to make it better. And besides my car has more soul and is more fun to drive.

why would you want to though?? A gtm Z makes 480-520 @ 10psi, a gtr needs 14psi to make about 460 and thats with the extra displacement. So there is nothing special about that setup that it would be worth the money. The tranny and the drivetrain is what rewrote all the record books though

A TT 370z makes more power with less boost because of the higher compression ratio. Turn the boost up to 14psi in the 370z and you'll blow up the motor. a high compression ratio is not optimal for a forced induction engine which is why FI 370z's run low boost.
