I know I shouldnt have left the scene originally I did it to try and catch up to the guy to see if I could get a plate but he was long gone. Wether the police believe it or not, Insurance should still pay for it right shouldn't they? I mean even if it was my fault they still would have, yes?

This wasn't on a highway zboi it was on tylersville right after mason middle school.

I just was so freaked out about the whole situation and I think I have/had a mild concussion and some whiplash. I dont know.. bad situation handled badly.

Oh and I do have a witness but he didnt get the plate number, hes my colleague from work.

Yes, insurance will pay but you will end up with a black mark on the policy as you were unable to identify the other vehicle. Whether it will result in any kind of insurance surcharge varies by state.

By law you typically have to call the police to the scene if there is more than $1000 in damage and file a full report within 24 hours (again this varies by state). The police would have checked your vehicle for the initial impact damage looking for paint etc to collaborate your story.
