 470g imho should be perfect for our cars.  apply a decent amount of loctite on the shifter's threads on one side (dont need to put a huge amount), thread in the knob, get the pattern to your preferred angle, and let it dry over night. should work just fine.  i like my shift pattern slightly facing the driver side.
