Problem solved already. Had a 2 1/2 inch o-ring here. Twisted it in half, slapped it on and it looks perfecto!!!

nice picts, alchemy! |
ordering the shift knob today...best looking and best valued shift knob I've come across (especially after initial reviews)...can't wait :excited:
|
I got mine as well. Very professional package. I like it. The stainless color is a nice satin finish with slight yellow hue to match the titanium like finish on the car's trim.
The engraving is smooth and not deep which is perfect not to get dead skin caught in the groove. Very nicely done PWJDM! |
order in w/6 speed and titanium base...I wish I could have shipped it to my office though, no one's ever home to accept packages during the day and my billing address on my CC is my home address
|
oh and coupon code still worked for the GB so I'm pretty happy about that
...what's this bottle neck theory all about? |

Ken, I also meant to mention the engraving, its very nicely done:tup: |

Just finished the install of the shift knob. Love the way this thing looks. It fits in very well with the Z interior. Thanks everyone for the tips on removing the stock shift knob. Using the vice grips and strap wrench made it really easy to remove.
To get a better fit between the boot and the shift knob I cut out the top of a water bottle and replaced the factory ring that is used to hold up the boot. The smaller ring makes the boot sit higher on the shifter and makes the shift knob look more flush with the boot. There is no need for the O rings if you decide to do this. Here are some pics. My custom one-of-a-kind boot ring, lol http://photos.eddiedelgado.com/photo...-NP3Pnf8-M.jpg Shift knob installed with the smaller ring http://photos.eddiedelgado.com/photo...-w6rCHSX-M.jpg http://photos.eddiedelgado.com/photo...-j4MWnBt-M.jpg Now I just have to let the loctite set before I go test it out. :driving: |
^mine threaded down into the perfect position, did yours?? Or did you use the loctite specifically to hold the knob in the proper position?
|
pjdm, are you guys sending out the washers with orders now or do we still have to request?

So I assume you zip tied it in place where the OEM was, eh?

Good job, by the way! |
I was out and about tonight doing some driving and I must say, again, the knob feels amazing:tup:
