It would be great, though. Depending on how much they are going for in another year or two I might get one. I have always wanted a roadster and for whatever reason I like the Z with the top off. It is either that or an S2K.

Someone please go interrogate a Nissan executive for info on ducts and coolers. And I HIGHLY doubt getting the Nissan cooler will void warrenty if installed by Nissan. Just a matter of time.

void is too strong of a word, but yes, it creates warranty concerns. nissan will be more than happy to tell you this if you call them.

To Air cool OR Not to Air cool, that is the question....

Subscribed...thanks Red and wstar for your insight. Good thread, very educational, even though I can only keep pace some of the time. That's ok, kenchan, Steve and onzedge will translate. I heard that if one sub woofer is good then two are better. I want to see wstar fit the water oil cooler along with the 19 row air oil cooler. I still can not find the thing-ma-jig and do-hickey in the FSM...haha...onzedege.

Oil temperatures are one of those things where that is not the case. You will end up tooling around town with the oil at 140-160* causing unnecessary wear, or you will end up tooling around with your oil-cooler's thermostatic plate closed 90% of the time.

Unless Nissan's oil-cooler is just total crap, which by the look of it, I really don't think is going to be the case.

Except your coolant is typically high (-ish, depending on conditions, but generally 195F+ even for mild driving in mild weather), so it can't cool the oil down any lower than that. If anything, it will help warm the oil up to that range faster and it keep it more stable. The questionable part about running dual (air and water) coolers both off of filter adapters is whether the stacked adapters pose a failure risk.
