Why would they put ducts in for looks?

My guess is they are using file photos from older models since nothing has changed on the exterior. The ducts will either draw air from the fang vents, center vent, or from underneath the car and will run directly to the caliper or the rotor for cooling.

And my guess is it will be very simple to retrofit since nothing else has changed.

Pretty simple, IMO.

Yeah, post up pics if you get them. Curious to see what they went with and how it works.

Nah I totally understand what ya mean, and I want to see what they look like as well, as a matter of fact I think I will be heading over to my local Nissan dealer on my day off tomorrow and see if I can snag the keys to a 2012. I'll try and snap some pics if I find anything. But it does say "purpose built" so I'm guessing its not for looks.

Pics would be great.

Yea I'll see what I can do. I figure if you cut the wheel you should be able to see them??

Hell, even the current fangs are fake vents.

My comment was more in terms of "functional" vents that aren't. I wanna know if they are set up to actually push air on the brakes.

I've looked at the tech line diagrams and I see the oil cooler, but I don't see any duct work for brake cooling. But that's not to say they didn't put some slits in the front side fangs to deflect air to the brakes.

Gotcha. I would hope so.

Yeah, me too. I'm just not assuming they are good until there is evidence.

I'm shocked to why there hasn't been after market air ducts made yet.. I'll be picking up a pair of these ducts in seconds

I'm sure it is demand. The people that really need serious track cooling are the guys that track their 370s frequently, and there really aren't that many out there. Probably not enough to justify development costs for any of the aftermarket companies only to sell a few dozen units at best. You're better off fabricating your own cooling ducts, which shouldn't be too difficult as you can buy generic kits out there and put them together yourself.

If NISSAN adds some real cooling to the brakes and we can get part #s and order the pieces, that would be awesome.
