Limp Mode Thresholds

Hey Guys,

I've been trying to find the actual temps where the car first enters 'limp' mode and then the second temp where the limp mode becomes more severe.

Can someone post the two temps and RPM limits?

At 280 it cuts to about 6000 or so, and 300 it cuts to 3500 and limits the valve timing to minimum.

Gotcha, after all the discussions I thought 260 was a cut point. If the first limit is at 280, does that imply that 260 is an acceptable engine temperature?

Under extreme driving conditions, 260 is within the threshold.. but not for sustained periods. If for example you have an oil cooler and on the track, and are able to get it to 260, this isn't a big deal, but cruising around town at 260 all day long would cause concerns. (but then there is a rather large thread about that topic..

)

Is limp mode called something else? I don't see it in the manual.

All I've seen the manual say is a vague statement along the lines of engine RPM is limited when oil temperatures are extreme.

^ Same vague statement I saw. Seems pretty important to just gloss over, so I was assuming I missed something.

How do you exactly get to 260 when driving around town? Unless something's with the car.
