Sorry for the loss, you couldn't have done much about it, hope you get yourself a new one

talk to a lawyer if you cant get anywhere. This is a huge amount of money and you should get their opinion.

kayess 09-10-2011 12:33 AM

On Monday they asked me to faxed the one proof of a page i have, there is a high chance they aren't going to cover it. I will be pursuing with a lawyer right after if they deny.

I do have a backup plan if all this fails on me, but lets see what happens....

I don't know guys... I have Progressive with a loan out on my car and I take if off insurance during the winter time and they never question me. So anything is possible I suppose.

Those pics make me sick to my stomach.

JC671 09-10-2011 08:41 PM

wow......

Godspeed man... That's a terrible feeling. I hope it works out for you in the end. Just come to terms with the car being done. Your focus now should be making sure you get compensated for it.

This is just criminal. Insurance companies, especially ones as large as progressive, are terrible with stuff like this. Horror stories like this are all abound.

Take their asses to court, judges hate these insurance moguls because they are constantly trying to get over on the consumer.

This is why I have state farm. They have always gone above and beyond for me, they never even ask questions when I call them, they just say "I'm so sorry sir, we will take care of everything", and then they do.

I say take em to court and sue for emotional damages for the stress induced by them refusing to pay for the car. Your car was just ruined, the last thing you need is your insurance company dumping you.

Yeah im trying, my one page of proof isn't doing me much good, according to the insurance company all my policies show no full coverage, yet they still haven't been able to answered why my print out from May shows full coverage.

Im trying to dig through more paperwork for court supporting documents.

Once this is over, first thing im doing is changing my insurance company...i hope they lose their customers for this monopoly they are playing with peoples hard earned money..>:/

Skeeterbop 09-10-2011 11:47 PM

Sorry about what happened to the Z and what the insurance company is doing to you. I'm going to make a few copies of my insurance policy now. Going to have one at the house, one in a safe deposit box and an electronic copy.

Skeeterbop 09-10-2011 11:52 PM

oh and atleast on my policy it shows flood damage being covered by collision of all things.

If you show them you are lawyering up, they will definitely get their butts in gear very quickly. It is probably an administrative mistake that you don't show up as comprehensive/full insurance, but that does not make it any better.

When you show them you are serious (insert lawyer), most of these companies will settle BEFORE you actually sue them.
